Job Description

Role Purpose:

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Internal Audit Senior Manager to join an expanding insurance company with a culture of excellence and remarkable growth potential.  You will work directly with the Heads of Internal Audit and will be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of the audit plan, with a portfolio of audits. You will be expected to develop relationships with management across various functions within the business, and, where required, manage the co-sourced relationships, and attend some internal committee meetings.

Key responsibilities:

Annual Planning

  • Support the Head of Audit to develop the risk based annual Internal Audit Plan.
  • Jointly with the Heads of Internal Audit, identify resourcing and skills needs for audits on the plan, and, where required, coordinate the Internal Audit co-source relationship.

Conducting audits

  • Carry out end-to-end audits, including determining audit scope, carrying out test plan, drafting audit reports, and ensure sufficient workpapers are in place to meet the guidance of the IIA Standards and CIIA Code.
  • Supervise input from more junior members of the team and co-source providers, ensuring the quality and timeliness of audit planning, fieldwork, data analysis, audit work papers, and reporting
  • Follow up on closure of audit issues.
  • Provide the Head of Audit and/or the Chief Internal Audit Officer with well researched reports and opinions for each audit led.

Stakeholder relationships

  • Develop a partnership and trust relationship with senior leaders in the business.
  • Ensure that work is done with the business as one team, in cooperation and in consultation with auditees and be an ambassador to Group Internal Audit
  • Where required, attend management meetings and Committees.
  • Lead on certain stakeholders relationships and be prepared to share views with senior management on the control environment at PIC, key risks, and improvement opportunities..

Requirements

Knowledge, experience, skills & abilities:

  • Deep technical expertise of Insurance or Asset Management, and Asset & Liability Management.
  • Proficiency with Internal Auditing Standards and IIA mandatory guidance.
  • Familiar with the regulatory environment PIC operates in and its application.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly
  • Ability to manage people and other resources effectively
  • Ability to organize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within defined procedures as recommended by functional teams
  • Commercial judgement
  • Good working knowledge of MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
