JOB TITLE: Capital Optimisation and Securitisation Associate

SALARY: £78,849 - ££96,371

LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity

Asset Optimisation is a dynamic and fast-paced team in Group Corporate Treasury. The team supports the Group’s strategic objective to deliver greater capital efficiency across the business through asset balance sheet optimisation activities.

To achieve our aims, you'll collaborate with teams across Group business units gaining valuable insight into the products that they write and the asset-side balance sheet constraints that they face. You’ll use your knowledge and technical skills to find opportunities to address these constraints allowing the businesses to continue to grow, thrive and achieve their goals.

In this role you'll gain a fascinating insight into the various businesses and how regulatory capital, stress testing and accounting treatment impacts Group performance.

We’ll also need you to apply your skills to implement and lead securitisations from a modelling and stakeholder management perspective to deliver these strategic initiatives at pace.

 Our responsibilities include:

  • Completing securitisation transactions to meet capital optimisation requirements and ensure accounting, regulatory implications are captured appropriately

  • Finding opportunities to improve our balance sheet, making recommendations to senior management on matters such as enhancing returns, RWA reduction, exposure mitigation and stress test impact

  • Owning and developing the Group Securitisation and Significant Risk Transfer policy to ensure appropriate oversight of all Group securitisations, engaging both internal and external partners, for example the PRA

  • Understanding changes to relevant regulations to ensure the Group is prepared and makes well informed decisions to mitigate any risks

What you’ll need

  • Highly motivated and delivery-focused

  • Strong analytical skills, including cash flow modelling for the securitisation transactions

  • An understanding of the bank and its balance sheet, a curiosity about balance sheet optimisation and its interaction with other Treasury and Group activities

  • Bringing some expertise in securitisation, technical accounting or a good understanding of economic return metrics such as RWA or leverage

  • A consistent track record of building collaborative relationships, and the ability to influence key partners

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

  • You'll have a passion for improving processes, being able to prioritise and work at pace
