About this opportunity…

The overall vision within the Finance Platform is to promote value for our customers, colleagues and partners. We're looking for Quality Engineers with a strong data mindset to help develop the new end-to-end target state strategic data journey within the bank, working with multiple stakeholders across both Finance and the wider group. Your role will be part of a cross-disciplinary team in addition to being a highly experienced member of our wider Lloyds engineering team. As part of these teams, our Engineers are encouraged to demonstrate and apply exemplary software engineering approaches, whilst working in a collaborative and agile environment. You’ll learn new skills, technologies and approaches to software development as well as benefiting from a culture that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and provides opportunities for flexible working.

Our new Quality Engineer will help our platform deliver business value through fully rounded engineering methods and technologies, ensuring platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices. They will be able to continually develop themselves with industry standard methodology and tooling used across their engineering teams. They will also help us strive towards a new data-centric strategy and take existing and new applications forward into the future data models.

About us…

Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We’re growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…

More about the role…

As a Quality Engineer you’ll be based in Bristol, supporting the Finance Platform. In an exciting change environment, you will be responsible for ensuring that we deliver and maintain the highest quality customer driven software. You will define and implement our Automation First approach whilst continually challenging, motivating and supporting your quality engineering team.

We’re looking for someone who has…

  • 2+ years of Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering experience with a deep knowledge of Test Lifecycle, Test Models, Best Practices, Test Benchmarking and Test Tools.

  • Looks to automate testing where appropriate, updating and streamlining the test automation framework & coding standards deployed within the team.

  • Has exposure to Jira, Confluence, Accessibility tooling and experience of Feature Team Agile/Scrum ways of working.

  • Has knowledge of the following skills, JavaScript, Jenkins, GitHub. Selenium, Python and Cucumber (BDD framework).

And any experience of these would be really useful…

  • Understanding of the Finance Technologies & Infrastructure would be good but not essential.

  • Test Management skills, which are an important part of this role, including strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • DevOps understanding including ability to code using open-source testing toolset or willingness to learn (we can provide training as we may not be using these initially but could in the future).

  • Participates in Communities of Practice, Guilds and improvement working groups and shares learning to members of their team.

  • Keen to deepen their technical knowledge and understanding.

Together we’ll make it possible…

Our focus is to ensure we are inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture. We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it is why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups. We are disability confident. So, if you would like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

•           A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

•             An annual performance-related bonus

•             Share schemes including free shares.

•             Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping.

•             30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
