You see security as an enabler and differentiator to support the business through innovation, not a step in the compliance process.   As a Lead Cyber Perimeter Security Engineer in the global Cyber Engineering perimeter defense team, you and your team will be responsible for collaborating closely with global cyber peers and technology peers, as well as contributing to the design and driving the implementation of Capital One’s global cyber program. You'll use your technical expertise and leadership skills to lead a team of talented Engineers. You'll also be looked upon to provide technical security leadership to wider Technology and Business partners; fulfilling the strategy of operating as “innovating through engineering excellence and striking the right balance of forward looking decisions”. What you'll do Empower, include, and inspire your team to meet their potential and deliver high quality at pace Drive the implementation of Enterprise-wide Perimeter Engineering program objectives to protect Capital One Build robust system solutions to meet perimeter security requirements at scale Influence/define/execute  product strategy, roadmaps. Assess, report on, and make recommendations Seek and share the context of the wider organisation, its purpose, its challenges and its opportunities to enable and engage your team with customer and organisational outcomes  Be a change agent driving continuous improvement in global cyber engineering process methodology and best-practices, ensuring these efforts align with organisational needs What we're looking for Prior experience working with perimeter protection eg. Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and BOT protection. Experience in deploying and operating cyber network security solutions Able to demonstrate an understanding of network security fundamentals Willingness to leading and develop our cyber engineering teams  Excellent ability to deep dive into complex issues and devise appropriate solutions Any of these would also be great Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Information Security Vendor, product, methodology and/or industry certifications Experience of working in a regulated environment Where and how you'll work This is a permanent position and can be based in our Nottingham or London offices. We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working model - one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration.   Our core in-the-office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but they aren't mandatory - you’ll be led by your team, the type of work you do and of course your preferences.
