Nottingham Trent House (95002), United Kingdom, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire Health and Safety Advisor About this role A new and exciting opportunity to join Capital One’s Workplace Solutions Team as a Health and Safety Advisor. You’ll work with all levels across the organisation to develop and advise on requirements, processes and practices, to drive and promote a positive Health and Safety culture and compliance with relevant legislation. You’ll be responsible for promoting awareness and high standards of Health and Safety across Capital One’s UK Business.  Initially, you’ll be responsible to review and update our existing Health and Safety programme, in light of the introduction of a hybrid working model, which will see more Employees working from home.  What you’ll do Based in Trent House, Capital One’s Nottingham Office, with occasional trips to their London office in Shoreditch, the main responsibilities will include: You’ll monitor and evaluate Health and Safety legislation on an ongoing basis, updating Capital One processes accordingly, to maintain compliance You’ll review and update our Health and Safety processes, in light of the introduction of a hybrid working model, to ensure Employees well being and compliance with relevant legislation.  You’ll reinvigorate, expand and manage the Health and Safety committee, organising and chairing meetings and ensuring completion of subsequent actions. You’ll report the required Health and Safety data to relevant stakeholders including the Head of Workplace Solutions, the Operational Risk Committee and the Board.  You’ll oversee and undertake audits where appropriate and ensure action plans, with clear objectives, are effectively communicated and completed You’ll identify, provide and/or procure relevant & effective health & safety related training You’ll manage our first aid programme, ensuring adequate first aiders are trained and deployed, including our Life Safety Team programme.  You’ll work closely in partnership with outsourced Facilities Management company, to ensure their Health and Safety duties are completed and dovetail with Capital One’s health and safety programme. What we’re looking for Experience in a Health and Safety advisory role within a similar organisation or equivalent technology organisation or financial services institution Thorough up to date knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation Ability to engage, influence and persuade at all levels. Ideally IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health for Business Ideally membership of IOSH The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar advisory role and will be progressive and self motivated. Where and how you'll work This is a permanent position and it is based in our Nottingham office.  We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working model - one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration.   Our core in-the-office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but they aren't mandatory - you’ll be led by your team, the type of work you do and of course your preferences.
