White Collar Factory (95009), United Kingdom, London, London Senior Cyber Engineer About this role As a Senior Cyber Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative UK Cyber Engineering team responsible for building and deploying platforms and services used to provide Information Security capabilities here at Capital One. You would use your technical expertise as well as embracing new and emerging technologies to deliver robust security solutions, whilst ensuring that Information Security remains an integral part of the corporate culture at Capital One UK. What you’ll do Build, deploy and operate a wide range of robust and fit-for-purpose security tools and services, in a Cloud-first culture Ensure strong and effective security controls are in place to detect and mitigate risks across all on-prem and Cloud environments to meet business and regulatory requirements Work closely and collaboratively with a large number of distributed engineering and operational teams across UK and US Tech, working in an AGILE delivery model Promote DevSecOps, leading by example to change existing systems and practices for the better, allowing all functions to do more with existing resources Improve and industrialise existing automation and scripting with a view to reducing fragility, time of execution, dependencies and vendor lock-in Assist other Information Security teams with evaluating technology to ensure adherence to developing standards and technical integration with current capabilities What we’re looking for A hands-on technologist with an eye for detail A keen proponent of the DevSecOps philosophy, bringing culture, automation, lean, measurement and everything-as-code into Information Security, at the same time as embedding security into DevOps tooling and processes A passion to share your knowledge and experience in mentoring and supporting junior engineers Excellent scripting skills, including Bash and Python, as well as extensive experience with CI/CD Experience with Terraform, Cloudformation and Ansible for infrastructure deployments and configuration within a secured AWS environment. Extensive experience delivering and supporting technical solutions at an Enterprise level, with a track record of instigating and implementing change Experience of; config management tools, Jenkins, host virtualisation, containerisation, ELK, Splunk, vulnerability scanners, proxies, WAFs, artefact management, data streaming and transformation Where and how you'll work This is a permanent position and can be based in our Nottingham or London offices. We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working model - one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration.   Our core in-the-office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but they aren't mandatory - you’ll be led by your team, the type of work you do and of course your preferences.
