We do this by applying software engineering principles to the development of internal data tools, harnessing data, technology, and analytics to make it easier to extract relevant insights and drive value.  So, if you have experience building data-focused software products, a commitment to shipping iterative solutions that deliver business value, and a thirst for the innovative and creative, we think you’ll feel right at home as one of our Data Analytics Engineers. What you’ll do Design, develop and maintain high quality software and data solutions for associates across the UK business, helping them to work more efficiently with large datasets Flex your interpersonal skills to translate the complexity of the work into tangible business goals Drive thinking across the team, focussing on the engineering approaches and technologies used to drive effective solution design and best practice Partner with stakeholders to provide recommendations, ensuring there is a balance between timelines, high quality delivery, technical cost and risk What we’re looking for Experience of writing code that works with analytic datasets.  Ideally you have experience of a language like Python and data focused libraries such as pandas and numpy Experience processing or analysing datasets, interacting with databases, data warehouses or data lakes  A passion for the tools you use to make development as efficient as possible - for example, you may have experience with git, unit testing frameworks, CICD pipelines or some data-focused cloud storage services (e.g. AWS S3) You love the process of developing software products, but also share our passion to do the right thing. You know at the end of the day it’s about reaching the right outcome for our customers You love innovation and evaluating emerging technologies. Where and how you'll work This is a permanent position and is based in Nottingham. We're currently working fully remote until 7th September after which time we're adopting a flexible hybrid working model - one that creates the opportunity to work in your own way, but also provides great spaces for in-person collaboration.   Our core in-the-office days are Tuesday to Thursday, but they aren't mandatory - you’ll be led by your team, the type of work you do and of course your preferences.
