International Mobility sits at the core of our promise to our people; creating and enabling a wealth of opportunities across the global Santander organisation to help our people grow and develop their careers. We have several international mobility programs at Santander, including our Mundo program where more than 2,000 colleagues have taken part in international assignments across our global network.

As the Global Mobility Manager, you’ll put the customer (candidate, employee and People Manager) first deliver in delivering excellent service. You’ll be responsible for the management and co-ordination of international assignments, secondments and permanent hires into and out of the UK business, aligned to our wider Talent Strategy, focusing on delivering a superb experience for all involved.

You’ll work closely with global stakeholders across Santander and liaise with external partners to provide support on critical items, such as tax implications, reward considerations, immigration and visa compliance, and onboarding of new international transfers to the UK.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Co-creating and executing as one HR team; our talent strategy, career growth, and development to enable our strategic business plans, creating real business change and agility
  • Contributing your expertise to the definition and build of the multi-year and near-term strategy for Strategic Talent, Learning Strategy, Recruitment & Onboarding Strategy, and the Strategic workforce planning framework

  • Working closely partnership with the Strategic People Partners, Strategic People Solutions Team and Culture & Reward CoEs to ensure execution of the strategies and frameworks are aligned and provide a super people experience
  • Delivering strategies locally with a global mindset to align to Santander Group’s vision, strategy, and priorities.  Engage with their Group peers to successfully influence and translate the Global vs Local strategy
  • Contributing to the development of Talent Experience enablers: employer branding initiatives, to attract and retain top talent, on-boarding programmes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees and talent moves

  • An excellent understanding of the international mobility landscape and practices and how it links to wider business strategy
  • Strategic thinking with experience in developing comprehensive expert insights from interpreting data and approaches to support effective mobility strategies

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills and capable of operating in an ambiguous, always changing, and dynamic environment
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Specific and demonstrable domain knowledge and expertise related to international visa and immigration requirements, international tax and reward considerations
