We are a dynamic team specialising in Financial Crime Intelligence Analytics. Our mission is to safeguard financial systems by developing advanced Transaction Monitoring models that detect and prevent money laundering typologies.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be involved in developing Machine Learning(ML) models which can be via vendor solutions such as ThetaRay or using open-sourced algorithms. The team is tasked with several functions in relation to detection of potential financial crime, the calibration of existing scenarios and the analysis of anomalies and spikes.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Writing, testing and maintaining production-quality code, and design, experiment, and evaluate algorithms, and models
  • Improving methodologies, developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, and fine-tuning model parameters
  • Delivering analysis and insights on anomalies and alert spikes
  • Interacting with internal stakeholders in financial crime control operations, regulatory governance and front office on the Strategic Transaction monitoring side
  • Working with other stakeholders in the company on building scalable production systems and applications
  • Preparing and presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
     

What you’ll bring:

  • Expert knowledge of Python and/or R and SQL in a Big Data environment
  • Experience of end-to-end model development and maintenance of ML models used for business critical decisions, ideally in a regulated industry like risk, fraud, economic crime

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Good understanding of Financial Crime landscape
  • Financial Crime vendor solutions exposure such as ThetaRay / Quantexa / BlackSwan
  • Experience in Transaction Modelling
  • Exposure to Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence)

This permanent role is based in Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
