We have a fantastic opportunity to join the bank as an Enterprise Architect within Santander Enterprise Services. Here you’ll work closely with other architecture teams, eg, Enterprise, Technical, Data & Security Architecture and will collaborate with Business and IT colleagues in Santander UK, as well as Santander Global Architecture.

As an Enterprise Architect you’ll create domain specific sustainable architecture strategies aligned with Santander’s goal of helping people to prosper and realise maximum potential.   We are passionate about radical simplification and building foundations, we think customer and embrace change. You’ll work closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation and will guide a portfolio of solutions within the local Santander Architecture landscape and governance framework. 

You will bring your experience in the Fraud domain, encompassing: Fraud Prevention, Fraud Detection, Fraud Resolution and Fraud Evolution to help shape the design of future Santander UK systems!

The difference you’ll make:

  • Keeping accountability for the solution architecture and ratification of all architectural decisions proposed by the Solutions Architects and the other Architectural disciplines
  • Maintaining architecture strategy within the specific domain
  • Ensuring all solutions align with enterprise, group and domain architecture strategies, documentation standards and that best practice is followed using approved components
  • Identifying any inter-dependencies between various changes within the domain
  • Providing guidance, including input into the goals and objectives of the Business Architect and Solutions Architect
  • Managing the caveats and actions for each change to ensure effective resolution in the agreed timeframe

What you’ll bring:

  • Comprehensive Fraud domain specific knowledge and domain driven design experience, with a working knowledge of the BIAN framework, TOGAF, ArchiMate and API & microservice architecture solutions 
  • Proven experience in defining & maintaining complex Strategic and Transitional Architectures
  • The ability to communicate complex concepts, to challenge and influence a diverse set of stakeholders in order to ensure consistency of understanding and alignment of goals
  • Experience of planning and organizing concepts, eg managing the Domain Solution Architects to review solution design for projects, understand the key architectural decisions and provide guidance and input ensuring consistency in deliverables methodology & governance processes
  • Being flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude and sense of initiative with the ability to learn fast - new concepts and skills and deal calmly with situations under pressure
  • Be passionate about driving and leading change by creating practical, workable architectures aligned to the bank’s IT principles and following the bank’s governance processes

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Experience of using Architecture tools e.g. Avolution Abacus
  • Have knowledge & experience of AWS & Cloud Architectures
  • Experience of defining & building APIs
  • Well-developed understanding of the Group's overall aims, structures, and policies, together with a detailed understanding of the Group IT vision, strategy and culture

What else you need to know:

This role is a permanent position to be based in Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

1st  Stage – A 30/60 minute virtual interview consisting of technical questions.

2nd Stage – A 60 minute formal interview where we may ask both technical and competency-based questions. This can be done virtually or face to face depending on your situation.
