Job Description

PIC is seeking a Business Analyst with strong data governance experience to help the business understand, manage, and use data effectively to pay the pensions of our current and future policyholders. You will be part of a centre of excellence for data and analytics, providing standards, tooling, and governance to solve problems, streamline and automate processes, and make informed decisions with high-quality data. You will support the rapidly expanding Customer, Insurance, and Operations sectors, providing both BAU and project-related support to embed data-driven behaviours, standards, and tools for scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Data Quality Manager and Head of Data Governance to refine and embed data quality monitoring & issue management strategies and operating models.
  • Manage and lead regular Data Working Groups, engaging with stakeholders and providing regular communications to embed a Data Governance framework across the business.
  • Define and embed new data quality rules to proactively monitor and control data at key points in the customer and policy data lineage, refining existing rules as needed.
  • Assist with the implementation of data systems, including piloting and selecting data governance, quality, automation, and analysis software.
  • Work with business and technical teams to define and document data and reporting requirements for data-related projects.

Requirements

Technical:

  • Experience handling data in Financial Services and within related regulations including GDPR, Solvency II, EMIR, AML, FCA & PRA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, data lineage, data quality, and data analysis best practices and standards.
  • Good knowledge of data modelling practices, including creating conceptual, logical, and physical entity relationship data models.
  • Ability to analyse large volumes of data, understand business and technology processes, and read code to identify the root causes of data issues quickly and accurately.
  • Experience defining new data-related processes and pipelines and analysing existing processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Experience with DB pensions, bulk annuities, and policy data is an advantage.

Personal:

  • Excellent communication skills with business stakeholders, able to build relationships across the organisation.
  • Ability to articulate complex data-related concepts in a way business users can understand.
  • Strong Business Analysis skills; able to work with stakeholders to define data-related requirements from business problems to support the automation and simplification of data processing.
