Exciting opportunities have arisen to join the Data Optimisation team within the Customer Affordability and Data which is part of Consumer Lending. You'll be joining as a Data Engineer, working alongside a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with the business, product owners and other engineering teams.

Key Accountabilities

We want to grow our team of data engineers who can transform data and build pipelines in different environments. So we’d be looking for you to have experience in some of the following areas:

  • Knowledge and understanding of BigQuery or similar, inclusive of creating extracts that are able to ingested into visualisation tools, like Tableau or PowerBI.

  • An understanding of big data and/or data warehousing architecture, with hands on experience of building batch or real-time data pipelines.

  • Knowledge of enterprise data modelling techniques such as de-normalised views, star schemas, OLAP cubes etc.

  • Knowledge and experience in: Advanced SQL, Python and ideally Java or Scala.

  • Working knowledge on any public cloud, preferably Google Cloud Platform (including components such as GCS buckets, BigQuery, PubSub, Dataflow or equivalents).

  • Experience in Agile Methodology.

  • Exposure or experience with Apache Spark or similar toolsets would be beneficial.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Commercial and Retail Banking.
