Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Contract Type: Permanent

Location:  Alderley Park

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Closing date: 8th October 2024

 

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and implement efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.

 

About the role

 

  • Deliver complex, technical process automations. Coding to the appropriate standards and principles which support the business strategy.
  • Deliver superior quality output to engineering best practices.
  • Participate in the development and review of standards, best practices, documentation and methods of working with Automation technologies leveraged by the organisation.
  • Provide advice on technical aspects of automation and ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
  • Consider a broad range of options and apply sound judgement to develop solutions.
  • Ensure automation platforms are managed to the satisfaction of the business, reporting on performance metrics, and looking for opportunities to continuously improve.
  • Participates in peer reviews of deliverables and carries out formal and informal reviews of technical designs, standards, documentation and/or implementations.

 

About you

 

  • Deep technical knowledge of and some experience, working with industry recognised automation technologies such as Microsoft Orchestrator, Azure Automation, REST API programming or PowerShell.
  • Experience of designing, building and operating automation services (front or backend) within a medium to large enterprise.
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation, problem solving and relationship building skills.
  • Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Ideally, strong experience with SQL and .NET technologies.
  • Ideally candidates will have experience/comfortable working in an agile environment.
  • An excellent communicator and comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Some experience of administering Windows or Linux systems.
