Job Description

Role purpose

In your role as Senior Project Manager - Finance, you will engage deeply with both internal and external partners to oversee the implementation of improvements to systems, processes, and technology within our Finance team. To be successful you will need to secure their sponsorship and stakeholder engagement for effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of change projects in Finance and provide effective leadership (taking responsibility across the full delivery lifecycle of assigned projects) from initiation and requirements definition, through to final delivery.
  • Effectively collaborate with Sponsors, Stakeholders and a range of business users, managing their expectations, and taking responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects within agreed quality, timescale and budget parameters.
  • Managing both internal and external resource within a multi work stream environment.
  • Act as change champion and ensure effective communication of the project objectives to the business community and project stakeholders including the preparation of communications and briefing packs where appropriate.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports reflective of the intended audience that demonstrate sound analysis and recommendations for delivery and produce regular reporting of activities against the project plan for stakeholders and project management office (PMO).

Requirements

You must have a successful track record of delivering finance change projects in an insurer .

Technical

  • A strong educational background with a recognised qualification in project management, complemented with relevant experience in life insurance/reinsurance finance and operations.
  • Good technical knowledge of Program and Project Management
  • Established knowledge of the Finance Operating Model
  • Knowledge of the financial reporting environment
  • Knowledge of the insurance finance regulatory environment

 

Personal

  • Experience in developing sponsor and stakeholder relationships with the ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly
  • Demonstrate Leadership though business engagement, team leadership and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex structures autonomously in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to organise work to meet deadlines.
