ROLE PROFILE:

The Senior Manager, People Business Partner role will primarily partner the newly formed Markets Engineering group.  The purpose of this role is to engage with leaders to provide commercially focused support to the People agenda aligned with business growth objectives, and to provide complex advisory and consultancy to senior leaders with limited direction.  The role sits within the Group Engineering People Partner team, and will coordinate and work closely with the Centres of Excellence, Country People Partners and People Operations teams to deliver integrated partnership.

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Drives the People agenda for the Markets Engineering group by  working in a partnership capacity with business colleagues,  other People Partners  and Centre of Excellence teams to influence and achieve strategic business priorities.

  • To act as a trusted advisor, coach and consultant for senior leaders in the Markets Engineering group, providing pragmatic solutions to people challenges.

  • To work in a matrix organisation, working closely with Markets and Engineering People Partners to ensure that the people strategy and delivery aligns to both Group Engineering and Markets business priorities. 

  • Apply expertise from Centres of Excellence and broader business partnering colleagues to ensure People  programmes and initiatives are communicated, understood and implemented consistently across the business.

  • Provides support and direction on key functional areas including Workforce Planning, Talent, Organization Design and Effectiveness, and Location Strategy.

  • Partner with leaders in leading change initiatives, driving employee engagement and nurturing a culture of diversity and inclusion.

  • Be an advocate for the talent agenda, building knowledge and networks of talent, integrating talent with other People processes (such as resourcing, succession planning, leadership development and learning) and promoting the flow of talent across the broader Group Engineering function in support of building a culture of Engineering excellence.

  • Partner with Centre of Excellence teams (e.g., Recruitment, Talent, Reward, HR Operations, Employee Relations) to develop, deliver and promote initiatives and solutions that address wider business needs.

  • To actively contribute and work with the wider People team to identify improvements in ways of working and implement changes to create smoother functioning processes.

  • Use metrics and analytics to help advise management decisions, understanding talent alignment and resource allocation, driving strategic workforce planning using predictive analytics and scenario modelling.

  • Effective Employee Relations management to resolve issues proactively and build measures to proactively eliminate these issues.

  • Work on a variety of projects and in some cases serves leading projects relating to the development and implementation of People programs and initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Significant HR expertise, with experience in a global, client facing People Business Partnering role.

  • Exposure to and experience of global and complex matrix organizations, preferably with a background in Financial Services or Engineering organisations.

  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to influence others and handle conflict.

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills with customer service mentality.

  • Experience and exposure in handling sensitive employee relations and dismissal situations.

  • Ability to work independently and on own initiative, is a good teammate - does not work in isolation from colleagues and uses experience from elsewhere.

  • Well organized and focused with regard to the application of HR policy, procedures and standards.

  • Has an eye for detail and follows the rules but uses judgment and checks when exceptions can and need to be made.

  • The ability to set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment, hands-on individual and who can deal with ambiguity.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to uncover people and business insights.

  • Approach work with a sense of urgency.

  • Be a collaborative, high-energy, proactive self-starter.
