Role profile:

Executive for the three trustee boards sponsored by LSEG, working with autonomy to ensure the smooth running of the UK DB pension schemes and supporting the trustee boards in all operational and governance matters.

ROLE SUMMARY:

LSEG has three Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes with combined assets of over £2bn and 10,000 members.  

The UK DB Pensions Manager is a key role within the Pensions Team and reports to the Director, UK DB Pensions.  The role is key in delivering day-to-day operational and governance matters for LSEG’s three UK DB pension schemes with primary focus on:

  • Working with authority and autonomy to oversee delivery of all aspects of pension scheme governance to ensure full compliance and no breaches of legislation
  • Supporting the Director, UK DB Pensions in managing the trustee board’s business strategy
  • Managing pension scheme member queries and complaints

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Organises and prepares agendas and papers in advance of trustee board and committee meetings
  • Drafts, maintains and approves policies and procedures, and ensures decisions are communicated to the relevant stakeholders
  • Manages the trustee boards’ business plans and lead on any diversions from the plan
  • Monitors changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment
  • Acts as in-house subject matter expert and escalation point on pension queries from pension scheme members including managing the trustee board’s formal complaints process
  • Identifies potential governance implications and proposes practical, pragmatic solutions
  • Supports member communication strategies across the three UK DB pension schemes
  • Maintains and manages close working relationships with key suppliers e.g. actuarial advisers, legal advisers and administrators
  • Partners with colleagues with the function and across LSEG utilising in-house expertise in operational and governance matters

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Degree or equivalent and relevant professional qualification (eg PMI or FIA)
  • Previous pensions experience which could have been gained in-house or through a consultancy
  • Sound experience of managing advisers and influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Planning and tracking delivery of tasks and projects, effective in dealing with multiple requests / activities, ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to deliver complex messages to stakeholders and members in a clear manner
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
