Location: Edinburgh (typically 2 days in the office per week, 3 from home)

Salary: A competitive salary from £50,880 - £76,320, depending on the experience you can bring

We are now looking for Senior Developers to join our team in Edinburgh where you will: 

  • Be responsible for leading and overseeing the development of complex applications, ensuring high-quality code, and driving technical excellence across our team. 
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other business stakeholders to deliver innovative software solutions. 
  • Take on a leadership role within the team and mentor junior developers. 
  • Provide technical guidance and foster a culture of continuous improvement, taking ownership of the capabilities assigned to your team. 
  • Design and develop robust and scalable web applications using Angular, Java and Python, amongst other technologies. 
  • Drive and lead best practices for coding standards, code reviews, and ensure adherence to quality assurance processes across the Aegon technology estate. 
  • Implement and maintain a strong testing framework to ensure the reliability and quality of developed software. 

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Deep technical understanding of frontend web technologies, preferably with experience working with Angular. 
  • Proficiency with Python, Java or other comparable backend languages. 
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for scalable and maintainable code. 
  • Expertise in AWS services and architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. 
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture. 
  • Worked collaboratively in Agile / Scrum environments, preferably in a senior or lead developer role.
