Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a meticulous, organised, efficient person to support the Chief Risk Officer in leading and directing PIC’s Risk Function by effectively collaborating across the business on key risk matters.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Chief Risk Officer

  • Support the CRO in directing members of the Risk Senior Team to ensure consistency of messaging and co-ordination of deliverables across the team.  Lead the Senior Management Team meetings, quarterly reviews and team building / strategy days.
  • Manage a small team to assist supporting the CRO
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance and support to the CRO on specific initiatives as required
  • Coordinate risk reporting to Committees and the year-end reporting.
  • Coordinate and mange recruitment for the risk team

Strategic alignment

  • Work with key business stakeholders, including the Chief of Staff, and other Heads of Office to ensure strategic alignment between the Risk Function and the wider business, to deliver the Risk Function Strategy.
  • Develop a pipeline of Risk projects / continuous improvements areas to feed into PIC projects portfolio.

Change Management

  • To effect change by seeking out opportunities to improve processes within the Risk Function, and by enhancing co-ordination and communication both across the Risk Function and between the Risk Function and the wider business.

Team planning & performance

  • Enhance and oversee the intra-year Risk Team planning.
  • Work with the CRO to set Risk’s Functional Objectives, associated KPIs and track team performance against these.

Requirements

Technical

  • Worked within a second line function within the Financial Service sector
  • Knowledge of risk Governance structures
  • Experience in delivering to tight deadlines and Committee reporting

Personal

  • Strong organisational skills, planning and time management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate to stakeholders with a range of backgrounds and seniority levels.
  • Ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly
  • Ability to build strong networks and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Ability to manage people and other resources effectively
