What are we looking for?

Natixis Investment Managers (NIM) is seeking an ESG Integration & Affiliate Advisory Lead to help shape NIM’s sustainable investment approaches and methodologies on key topics (e.g. Climate Transition) and contribute to the development and sharing of best practice across NIM’s affiliates.

Who will I be working with?

The team has cross-functional interactions with all departments within the company (Strategy, Communications, Finance, IT, Compliance, Risk etc.) and all the Sustainability teams at our affiliates across Europe and US. The team is based in 3 main locations: Paris, London and Boston.

What will I be doing?

Develop NIM sustainable investment approaches and methodologies

  • Provide technical expertise in shaping NIM’s approach to key sustainability methodologies and topics (e.g. Climate Transition, Biodiversity Footprint…)
  • Establish and monitor NIM’s desired positioning on key sustainability topics relative to market trends and peers (e.g. through peer analysis and collating internal expertise within NIM and across its affiliates)
  • Develop insights and further knowledge on key sustainability topics across NIM functions including the production of relevant contribution to external industry groups, communications and publications

Drive embedding of ESG across investment and supporting processes

  • Coordinate with other functions and NIM’s affiliates (where required) on drafting, implementing and maintaining master sustainability policies and principles at NIM level
  • Support the Sustainability Office in its efforts integrate sustainability across all of NIM through the delivery of strategic, regulatory and policy initiatives (e.g. defining function-level plans for enhanced sustainability embedding)

Provide advisory support to NIM’s affiliate investment managers

  • Take the lead on engaging with affiliates to understand their varying approaches to ESG integration and ensure this is centrally understood at NIM level
  • Share best practice across affiliates in an advisory capacity based on functional expertise existing across NIM and by keeping on top of industry developments and best practice
  • Maintain updated documentation and mapping of affiliates’ ESG Integration frameworks and evaluate their maturity vs. industry best practices
  • Lead regular forums / working groups with affiliates to develop and maintain relationships, share best practice and exchange client and commercial expectations on key sustainability topics across NIM

Business Development and New Products

  • Anticipate and maintain a pipeline of new ESG products launch with the affiliates and coordinate a smooth process with other NIM’s functions across the key processes: Seed Money, New Product & New Activity…
  • Provide an advisory opinion on the new ESG products, Sustainability related policies or frameworks as part of an active participation in NIM’s New Product & New Activity (NPNA) Committee alongside Risk and Compliance Functions
  • Liaise with Public Affairs and Regulatory Watch to evaluate the business impacts of new ESG regulations 

Internal ESG Product Classification

  • Provide advisory support to NIM’s affiliate on the internal classification of new ESG funds
  • Conduct consistency checks and controls to ensure the funds are well classified within the different NIM Internal categories
  • Liaise with other NIM functions (Finance, IT…) to address any issue and ensure robust process and continuous improvement.

What skills and qualifications are required for the role?

  • Strong expertise in ESG Integration within investment management and the varying needs of clients and other stakeholders
  • Proven experience in developing Sustainability methodologies (transition planning modelling, Biodiversity footprint…)
  • Practical understanding of Sustainability regulation especially on ESG Products (SFDR, UK SDR, ESMA Fund Naming rules…)
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, lead a variety of meetings and collect and disseminate complex information in a digestible manner
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities and ability to quickly get up to speed with evolving sustainability topics across the industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
