Role profile:

Key role in the finance controllership team, leading on the implementation of the CSRD controls framework and reporting. This role will work closely with our sustainability team, as well as across the organisation, to deliver robust sustainability reporting, lead on our ESG data & technology strategy as well as oversee the Group’s assurance processes.

Role summary:

You will lead on developing and implementing a robust end-to-end process and the internal controls that will govern our CSRD, and other ESG, reporting. You will develop LSEG’s ESG data and technology strategy as well as work across the business to coordinate efforts in order to meet ESG regulatory reporting requirements. You will be a key contributor to producing LSEG’s external ESG reporting and be the lead audit contact.

What you'll be doing:

  • Data quality, accuracy, validation and controls: develop and oversee LSEG’s internal controls and reporting framework, ensuring reliable data and standardised supporting work processes, policies, procedures and controls are in place. Assist teams across the business in optimising processes, data flows and controls. Perform risk assessments for the design of internal control and governance.
  • ESG data/technology strategy: lead LSEG’s ESG data and technology strategy in collaboration with Technology.
  • Cross-function relationships/coordination: build relationships and coordinate efforts to educate and support internal stakeholders and gain buy-in.
  • External reporting: Key contributor in providing assurance ready qualitative data points required as part of LSEG’s external sustainability reporting.
  • Audit relationship/coordination: oversee the Group’s assurance processes over ESG metric reporting and be the main leadership contact for the external and internal ESG assurance providers.
  • Lead on LSEG’s strategy for the transition from Limited to Reasonable assurance.

What you'll bring:

  • Degree (or equivalent) and qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Extensive Post Qualified Experience.
  • Significant experience across internal, external and regulatory reporting, internal controls as well as ESG/Sustainability.
  • Able to operate with a controls mindset and be able to critically think through complex and evolving ESG standards. Understands internal and external controls and processes to help deliver on LSEG’s ESG objectives.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues. Experience in managing multiple stakeholders with an ability to work across various business units and functions.
  • Proactive behaviour that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
  • Strong project management skills.
