Hours:  Full time
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in office.

The ETL Engineer aims to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their engineering teams. They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended.

What you’ll do

  • Accountable for the design, build and implementation of Front and Back end changes with a focus on operational stability, robustness, resilience and quality. Ensuring this is in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles.

  • Provide Domain Expert input into systems development, integrations and architecture.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance, including coaching and mentoring of the team.

  • Contribute to the success of the wider Engineering Community by following industry standards, improving work quality through peer reviews, and sharing your knowledge to foster growth.

  • Build partnerships and work cross-functionally with others to meet shared objectives, promoting a culture of collaboration where people can express themselves honestly.

What you’ll need

Experience in one or more of the following:

Front-End Technologies

  • Configuring and customizing the Debt Manager application for Retail customers, including workflows, user role entitlements and front end user functionality.

  • Skilled at aligning application configurations with business requirements to optimize supporting customers in financial difficulties.

  • Adjusting application settings, creating custom fields and modifying user interfaces to enhance functionality and user experience.

  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and resolving configuration-related issues in the Debt Manager Platform

ETL Development and Data Transformations:

  • Proficient in using ETL tools such as Pentaho Data Integration for designing, testing and deploying data transformation workflows. Skilled at extracting, transforming and loading data across various source ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data pipelines.

  • Experience in SQL Server for database administration, SQL statements, complex stored procedures, dynamic SQL queries, functions, scripts and using SQL to query, analyse and manipulate data.

  • Strong knowledge of database optimisation, indexing and performance tuning to support reliable operations

  • Excellent data analysis skills.

  • Implementing data quality checks, data cleansing and validation to ensure high-quality data in ETL processes.

DevOps:

  • Strong adoption of version control and source code management

  • Competent in Agile methodologies for collaboration and iterative development

It would be great if you also had

  • Release management knowledge

  • Collections and Recoveries process knowledge

  • Experience in designing and implementing Batch Processing Architectures

  • Experience in configuring and managing Batch Scheduling Tools
