Job Description

The Early Careers team encompasses both recruitment and development for our central graduate, apprenticeship, internship and work experience programmes.  

On the recruitment side, we have colleagues who own on demand planning, recruitment strategy, recruitment & selection process design and delivery – as well as offer management. They work closely with a dedicated campus engagement specialist, within Marketing, who leads on attraction. 

On the development side, we have three colleagues who are responsible for the global graduate development journey, as well as the design of the divisional programmes. Cohort Managers own end-to-end programme management within their divisions. 

As a Senior Manager passionate about development design and delivery, you’ll work closely with the Manager and Senior Associate to lead on the design and deliver of the graduates’ global development journey and ensure its successful overlay with the various divisional programme structures. This role will provide the opportunity to design a learning journey based on business requirements and strategic global skills needs, to build / improve learning content, to deliver skills sessions and development events and to project manage global development products end-to-end.  

You’ll will also be the people leader for the Engineering division Cohort Managers who support to deliver the global programme, ensuring the development journey meets our customers’ needs and that their feedback is incorporated. 

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities 

You’ll have ownership of specific components of the global graduate development journey and guide the team on all design related components, including; 

  • Demand Planning: With TA Lead, review hiring demand and lead discussions with divisions around strategic programmatic hiring requirements & implications / resource requirements 

  • Skill Pathway Design: For new programmes & programmatic onboarding of new locations as well conducting design reviews for existing programme pathways to help shape future programme design  

  • Design and Delivery: Design & delivery of global graduate development products such as Induction & Roll off, as well as guiding the team on all other aspects of the graduate development journey  

  • Programme Evaluation: Design of overall programme evaluation / review approach (to include review of global dev journey, divisional programmes, quarterly dashboards) 

  • Management of Cohort Managers: Ensure global consistency and manage cadence across Cohort Managers as a group, e.g. shared principles across key processes / approaches and Provide leadership and mentorship to the team of cohort managers for Engineering ensuring end to end delivery of the development journey 

  • SPOC for Engineering Programme: Act as one of the key points of contact for the Engineering Graduate Programme and work closely with divisional L&D teams to deliver all Early Careers offerings for the division 

  • Partnering with the people function: Partner with COEs, People business partners and country people partners during the key millstones of the development journey to ensure both global and local consistency in approach  

  • Cohort Management: Act as the cohort manager for selected business functions managing the end to end delivery of the development journey 

  • Budgeting and Monthly Finance tracking: Partner with the finance business partner to support  overall early careers budgeting and monthly finance reviews

Required Skills & Experience 

A key element of this role is to manage stakeholder relationships to guide the design and delivery of the programme. This will require collaboration with, and buy in from, a variety of stakeholders so you’ll have the ability to build credibility quickly and influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes. You’ll be able to lead on the design of global products, ensuring relevant owners are on track with delivery.  

As the role involves both design and delivery, we’re looking for a candidate who is capable of defining strategy and driving execution.  

This is a people leader role and you will be encouraged to provide steer anmentorshipce to the cohort managers as well as the team within early careers development.   

You’ll have the creative thinking and problem - solving skills to improve processes and development products, solutioning and anticipate challenges.  

A keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills to deliver products successfully.

Ideally, you’ll have a proven passion for Early Careers and experience across elements of the full Early Careers life cycle - spanning campus engagement, recruitment, pipeline programmes and graduate programmes.
