JOB TITLE: PEGA Lead Engineer

SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £86,964 - £102,310

LOCATION: Leeds

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

In the Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) Platform, our mission is to reduce harm to our communities.  We’re on a journey to use the latest advances in AI and Machine Learning to enhance the Group's capability to prevent, detect and respond to economic crime. The Platform sits within Consumer Relationships and plays a critical role in providing services across the whole Group.

What will I be doing?

You’ll lead and direct the team as well as working with the Business, Development and UK onsite teams to drive solutions. Additionally, supporting code reviews and defect resolution. You’ll coach other members in the team including junior engineers and partner resources and support wider delivery consideration eg; risk management, planning, keeping documents current. The role will also include supporting implementations that may be out of usual working hours and attending and contributing to Guilds.

What you’ll need

  • A Certified Lead System Architect (PEGA qualified), with significant experience in PEGA

  • Experience of delivery on PEGA 8.x is required in either PEGA Business or PEGA Technical Environment

  • Must have experience of building REST APIs

  • Strong understanding of PEGA Architecture and supporting infrastructure

  • Support of working on PEGA applications on Cloud based architecture.

  • Must have experience of developing web services using JAX-WS, JAX-RS, JAX-B and Java web-frameworks.

  • Experience of designing applications from scratch within PEGA including class structure and Org design.

  • Previous experience of analysis and design of solutions, proto-typing, build, test, implementation, and application support.

  • Clear Communication - with a high standard of English, both written and verbal, familiar with communicating with Business customers

  • Experience of bringing together individuals to form a highly effective team, with strong team identity

  • Experience in leading and directing teams of up to 15 engineers, with a strong focus on Coaching/mentoring Junior team members

What will be desirable

  • Strong understanding of WAS, JBoSS and Tomcat servers

  • Knowledge of working with Pega applications frameworks Like CLM (Customer Lifecycle Manager), Customer Service, Smart Disputes etc.

  • Strong Core Java skills

  • Understanding of react and front-end development

  • Experience of JIRA/Confluence and other tools and techniques such as DevOps

  • Keen focus on sustainable and cost effective technical solutions
