Role Profile

In this role, you will be joining us in the Developer Success Team as a Developer Enablement Specialist. This team serves as a front door to the Engineering Excellence & Productivity engineers, operations teams, and compliance teams with the key focus of enabling our DevOps teams accelerate new software or new features to production. Some key activities include:

  • Ensuring all central requirements and changes are supported via aligned EXP squads. Using our EXP squads, the team will either explicitly implement the technical change required or lead CT coordinated efforts where there are multiple capability dependencies.
  • Ensuring correct tooling standards are being followed as well as automation of operational tasks.
  • Supporting Compliance, Security Controls and Risk Management.
  • Ensuring an acceptable level of IT operations performance and error risk in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Continuously review operating metrics and data to find opportunities to improve.

Tech Profile/Essential Skills

  • Understanding of DevOps / DevSecOps Principles including CI/CD
  • Understanding fundamentals of Developer Tools (ex: GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of taxonomy, metadata, and information architecture principles
  • Ability to analyse data usage patterns and optimize the knowledge management system based on insights
  • General understanding of Databases
  • Knowledge Management Tools (ex. Confluence, SharePoint, Teams, Stack Overflow), including Administration and Configuration
  • PPM Tools (ex. Asana, Jira, Clarity)
  • Presentation Delivery Tools (ex. MS Power Point, Lucid Chart).
  • Desired experience in organizing technical events (Hackathons, Workshops), and knowledge management campaigns.
  • Experience collecting feedback in various forms including conducting surveys
  • Desired experience with Video Editing and Publishing content
  • Previous experience in a Project delivery, Coordination or Support role
  • Previous experience in Knowledge Management in support of Software Development, Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance.

 Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to integrate knowledge-based systems with other applications and systems within the organization
  • Evaluate the performance and effectiveness of knowledge-based systems.
  • Hands-On experience of working with Confluence, SharePoint and Stack Overflow
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies
  • Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability
  • Hands-On experience of working with PPM Tools (ex. Asna, Jira, Clarity) and Presentation Delivery Tools (ex. MS Power Point, Lucid Chart, etc.)
  • Hands-On experience in creating, editing and distributing user communications covering technical and non-technical events and processes.
  • Hands-On experience in scripting language, preferably Python
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Ability to write documentation effectively in English and communicate with all levels of staff, both orally and written. 
  • Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities under minimum supervision.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Structure knowledge using appropriate ontologies, taxonomies, or other knowledge representation formalisms.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge bases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Design and implement knowledge-based systems using various tools and technologies.
  • Populate knowledge bases with relevant data and information.
  • Continuously update and refine knowledge bases to improve system performance and accuracy
  • Designs, builds, and updates documentation and other knowledge management artefacts to maintain and enhance the knowledge base describing the products, system, and its parts, including user and technical documents across all media (documents, wikis, videos, etc).
  • Integrates data from various sources into a single cohesive knowledge base.
  • Facilitates the creation, sharing, and curation of relevant content such as documents, wikis, guides / manuals, knowledge articles and Q&As within knowledge management platforms ex. Confluence, SharePoint, Stack Overflow, GitLab Wiki, etc.).
  • Identifies gaps in the existing knowledge management process and recommends improvements to enhance knowledge capture, sharing, and retrieval
  • Develop and integrate NLP techniques to enable natural language interaction with knowledge-based systems
  • Build and train language models to understand and respond to user queries effectively
  • Implements and maintains search functionalities to help developers quickly find relevant information.
  • Shows ability to produce innovative ideas and novel approaches to problems and establish solutions through different methods.
  • Partners with clients and resolves issues by diagnosing problems, determining resolutions, and implementing effective solutions​​.
  • Defines a problem, generates solutions, and evaluates and identifies the best solution to overcome the problem.
  • Interacts well with others, quickly establishing rapport building positive relationships and networks.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Knowledge Management System Design & Development – Design, develop and enhance knowledge management systems (across all available venues and tools) to ensure user access to organisational knowledge, technical documentation, standard methodologies, educational materials, and interactive Q&A’s.
  • Integrate data from various sources into a cohesive and well-structured knowledge base.
  • Facilitate creation, sharing and curation of technical content such as wikis, user guides / manuals, video tutorials and knowledge articles across all available media.
  • Optimize search and retrieval capabilities to help developers quickly find the required information
  • Identify, evaluate, and curate relevant knowledge resources, including articles, research papers, case studies, and standard processes.
  • Collaborate with domain experts (SMEs) to ensure the accuracy and relevance of curated content.
  • Maintain a well-organized repository of knowledge assets
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing forums, communities of practice, or discussion groups
  • Track the impact of knowledge adoption initiatives through metrics such as engagement rates, content views, and surveys/user feedback
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of knowledge dissemination methods and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Provide input and bring strategies to life to promote knowledge adoption across the organization
  • Deliver training and support to developers on knowledge management tools, ensuring optimal use of the system and promoting knowledge sharing culture.
  • Provide reports on agreed metrics relevant to knowledge management practices.
  • Handles own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture.
  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in knowledge management and is regarded as the SME in their domain. Develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies.
  • Understands the knowledge management strategy and culture, and how they impact own work as well as adjacent teams.
  • Oversees the design work and planning for user journeys ensuring they achieve the desired objectives.
  • Supports the creation of solutions for Epics and the associated implementation tasks.
  • Develops understanding of LSEG's commercial direction and how technology and knowledge management is forming a part of this.
  • Completes the delivery of given tasks with limited guidance and oversight.
  • Builds strong relationships with senior internal partners, growing network and collaborating with own team and colleagues in other domains. Communicates complex information clearly to relevant audiences.

  • Must interact with global teams in time zones spanning UK, US, APAC areas. 
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through to deployment, operation, and refinement. 
  • Participate in Project related activities to meet operational needs. 
  • To ensure knowledge management artifacts of all supported systems are continuously updated. 
  • To deliver the highest level of customer service, whilst working under pressure.
