We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Learning and Talent Development to join us in leading the strategic delivery of Capital One’s UK learning and talent strategy. Reporting to the Director, HR Business Partnering and in collaboration with your team, you will be responsible for defining and overseeing the learning development and talent strategy for Capital One UK, and have accountability for end-to-end programs and practices from Early Careers, professional development, leadership and talent programmes for all lines of business. With your team, you will be accountable for delivery against the full learning cycle from needs analysis to return on investment. You will partner with external suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver solutions that grow and develop the best talent. This role requires a deep understanding of learning methodologies, facilitation, and leadership development skills, along with a genuine passion for nurturing talent within our organisation.
What you’ll do
Serve as a strategic partner to the business, implementing learning and development solutions that are aligned to business needs: partnering closely with Leaders, HRBP’s and international Learning & Development Teams
Lead and engage a team of high performing learning professionals with a clear vision that inspires high performance
Act as a strategic partner to the Director, HR Business Partnering in relation to talent development and succession programmes aligned to the people strategy
Strategic accountability of the Early Careers annual plan linking the activity to critical business demand
Provide thought leadership and oversight for the People Leader development, coaching and mentoring annual plan
Identify and adopt/develop transformative learning methods that are easily accessible, personalised, digitised and automated for the best employee learning experience
Provide data lead analysis to evaluate, manage and deploy learning investments in third party tools and partnerships when appropriate, including budget, vendor, and partner management
Experience leading a Learning function in a faced paced environment, (knowledge of technology organisations preferred)
Proven track record building a learning and talent development strategy, ensuring training needs of the business are evaluated and appropriate development methods are selected based on relevant best practices and external trends
Influential partner who leads with data informed solutions to obtain buy-in from multiple stakeholders to influence the desired culture, behaviors and skills
Strategic orientation with proven ability to set a vision, chart a path and execute with high impact
Experience within coaching and facilitation skills
Excellent communicator across multiple level stakeholders (team, employees, managers, people leaders, executive team)
Leverages a strong customer orientation for building relationships across and within HR broadly, and in the lines of business
Has a strong bias for optimisation and driving continuous improvement
Where and how you'll work
This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office.
We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.
We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
