Role Profile

The role is based in London and reports to the Director, EMEA Tax Leader. The position will have overall direct tax responsibility for a portfolio of the group’s UK entities from a compliance and reporting perspective in addition to supporting on strategic projects and initiatives relating to the UK and wider EMEA. The individual will work closely with outsource providers, the financial controller community, the business, and the wider tax team on delivering the goals of the tax function. Key Responsibilities

 The selected candidate will have ownership for:

  • Manage the direct tax compliance for assigned portfolio of entities with respect to tax provisions (Group and statutory), tax returns, tax payments, tax audits, identification of UTPs (uncertain tax positions). These services are also supported by outsource providers, so the role will involve working with several teams to ensure that the various deadlines are met.
  • Lead on the Group’s UK Controlled Foreign Company monitoring and review.
  • Lead on the Group’s processes in relation to Senior Accounting Officer and associated governance and control frameworks.
  • Lead on the Group’s R&D Tax credits claims in EMEA. This includes the UK and France and involves coordination between business teams and the outsource provider who prepares LSEG’s claims.
  • Support internal WHT processes with respect to obtaining applicable treaty rates on customer payments, as well as monitoring the WHT certification received for credit relief.
  • Opportunities to lead on strategic projects as they arise.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • ACA, CTA or both
  • Tax experience in a multinational corporate tax environment
  • A high degree of organization and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting frameworks and understanding of accounting systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate and co-ordinate with finance and non-finance colleagues.
