JOB TITLE: Senior Media Relations Manager (6-months FTC)

SALARY: £86,964 - £102,310

LOCATION(S): London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax & Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this Opportunity

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic commercial and corporate communications professional to join us to drive a reputationally-significant part the Group’s media relations and communications framework. You will help bring our purpose to life, while leading on live issues in a way that promotes and protects the Group’s reputation. We do this on a daily basis through engagement with national media, and through the insight and counsel that we give as a communications management team to the wider business.

The role will be focused on communications support for legal, commercial and corporate business areas. You’ll need to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal partners as well as media using strong communication skills, with the ability to cut through complexity. You'll have significant experience in communicating corporate messages to highly experienced journalists with confidence and credibility. There will be scope for you to demonstrate your passion for communications, as you will represent the senior management team with responsibilities to help shape the day to day running of the media team with a proactive, can-do approach.

What you'll need

  • Delivering media activity in a fast-paced environment to support the legal, corporate and commercial business areas, including projects working with external partners and promoting the Group’s reputation to external audiences.

  • Acting with expertise, providing media advice to our legal partners and business areas, including challenging and influencing senior partners.

  • Handling enquiries from the media relating to corporate and commercial banking, with a focus on Group-level issues.

  • Identifying, raising and mitigating emerging risks to protect the reputation and interests of the Group, our colleagues and customers.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Drive, critical thinking and ambition to work with a fantastic team in a lively press office.

  • Significant experience in communicating commercial and corporate and media messages.

  • Understanding of internal communications to support our business partners.

  • Ability to act as a spokesperson, including on an out-of-hours basis.

  • Evidence of positive working relationships with key partners in other divisions and functions outside media relations.

  • A proven track record to work under pressure, handle time effectively, be a strong teammate and to work closely with colleagues from multiple teams.

  • Experience of handling issues and crisis management, and to quickly develop a strong understanding of complex issues.
