We’re driven by our commitment to helping the UK get ready for retirement. As part of this, we’re constantly developing new ways to simplify, improve and revolutionise how we help individuals, employers, advisers, our communities and the environment. That means we need the right kind of people on our team.
We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.
A Lead UX Designer at Aegon is a highly experienced designer with t-shaped skills who can comfortably operate in the product design space. The ultimate purpose of the role is to lead and manage the user experience (UX) design for Aegon’s digital estate. As a strategic leader, you’ll be able to individually contribute but also focus at a team and organisational level to ensure the alignment and value of our outputs, outcomes and the UX maturity of the team and wider business. You’ll champion usability and the practice of user experience as a discipline ensuring the implementation of designs across our extensive financial-based platforms. This role is pivotal in defining and creating cohesive, user-centred solutions by taking accountability to expertly balance desirability (what do customers want and need), feasibility (can we build that/do that) and viability (is there a commercial case for doing this) in our outputs and outcomes.
You’ll directly line manage up to six talented UX Designers at various levels within the team whilst driving their learning and development agenda to nurture, grow and align their skills and knowledge, ultimately maturing both the individuals and practice of user experience across the business. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that our digital products are fit for the multitude of users that rely on Aegon to live their best lives and that we comply to all necessary standards set by the various regulatory bodies.
