Job Description

The Senior Finance Manager Transfer Pricing role is responsible leading the transfer pricing activities of the group to ensure that the results support the group Transfer Pricing strategy and that the set up and accounting activities performed within the COE reflects the current organisation’s structure and operations. This is a key role in achieving the organisation's one brand strategy and the tax transfer pricing goals of reasonable taxable results in every operating country and low global cash tax payments.

This role sits within the group financial reporting team  based in London and supports the group by leading the team who are responsible for the calculation and reporting of the transfer pricing results of the individual LSEG legal entities. The role will offer guidance on the transfer pricing requirements within the division or department and will outline the tax consequences for the group resulting from changes within the organisation, including acquisitions and disposals activity. The role is also responsible to ensure that all local statutory Transfer Pricing reporting and compliance requirements are adhered to.

The role requires strong communication, analytical and leadership skills, with a proven track record to meet strict delivery deadlines and provide excellence service to tax and statutory controllership. The role also requires the candidate to create a network of contracts within the business functions, building strong relationships with the various Finance teams and business partners. The role is critical in ensuring that all transfer pricing transactions generated by the group are aligned with OECD and other tax requirements and provides simple solutions to facilitate tax investigations as well as implementing and maintain a strong control environment.

The role reports to the head of Group Reporting and Accounting Policy. 

The key activities for the role are as follows:    

  • Build and develop transfer pricing accounting solutions working with Tax colleagues, Finance, and business partners to meet the goal of reasonable and defendable taxable results in each country where we operate.
  • Leading the operational transfer pricing activities for both group and statutory purposes. 
  • Measure the applicability of the transfer pricing accounting solutions to OECD guidelines, Pillar II and CBCR requirements.
  • Provide financial support and analysis for tax audits.
  • Provide guidance and support to the organisation on transfer pricing requirements covering their business area and from changes in their operations.
  • Handle the Integration of new entities and TP structures into the current TP accounting solutions resulting from acquisitions and disposals activity.
  • Staff management of the transfer pricing accounting team who are based across three locations.
  • Become the escalation and focus point for all accounting matters covering transfer pricing.
  • Run the delivery of the allocation model processes for Engineering, Corporate & Operations working with Finance Business Partners on monthly results and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional tax and finance teams to ensure accurate and consistent transfer pricing practices.
  • Build strong relationships with the COE teams supporting the transfer pricing activities of the organisation ensuring that they meet all operational and reporting requirements and have sufficient knowledge of our processes and businesses to identify areas of risk.
  •  Lead the monthly intercompany reporting process for the organisation through the provision of comprehensive reports and clear guidelines and responsibilities to the stakeholder community.

Department’s role  
The group financial group reporting team sits with the central finance function. The team is responsible for running the group reporting cycle and production of the consolidated group financial statements and providing accounting guidance and analysis in Transfer pricing, Treasury, cashflow and CSRD areas and is the central point for all technical accounting issues.

Person specification – required skills and education

Key attributes for this role are: 

  • Extensive experience in General Accounting, transfer pricing/international tax or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA).
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and data interpretation.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and partners.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using financial software, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate complex transfer pricing concepts to stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of end-to-end accounting process.
  • Sound judgement and ability to make informed decisions in complex transfer pricing scenarios.
  • Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Comfortable with working autonomously.
  • Understanding of Control environment and IFRS.
  • Strong work ethic and team spirit.
