Reporting directly to the EMEA Head of Asset Owners and Wealth Investors this is a key leadership role within the regional Index Investment Group (IIG) team. The role will be responsible for direct management of the Institutional Asset Owners, Consultant Relations and Wealth coverage team.

The role is accountable for revenue generation through the institutional channel (directly through schemes and indirectly via 3rd party implementers) through driving Index adoption within Asset Owners and Consultants and overseeing asset flows into passive vehicles tracking FTSE Russell indices. This role will be responsible for developing regional strategy, across institutional clients including Pensions, Insurance and Investment Consultants, connecting with the efforts of buy- and sell-side teams within IIG to have a full view of the market.

The role will involve all aspects of business management & development, strategy formulation, client engagement and relationship management, internal coordination across the IIG regional team and working closely with the IIG teams in other regions for global consistency.

The role will also be responsible for some key client relationships, providing consultative solutions and engaging with client organizations at a senior level.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Achievement of team new business targets (AUM growth, driving direct & indirect revenues, benchmark adoptions) for sustained growth of our index business for client segments
  • Set the strategic priorities for the UK Institutional clients in alignment with broader IIG business objectives to promote growth of asset-based revenue across the index ecosystem
  • Develop and lead on execution of the strategic growth plans to increase FTSE Russell index adoption and market penetration for the Institutional segments across UK
  • Accurate forecasting and planning of new business strategies
  • Have direct responsibility for leading major client relationships, setting strategy and executing on plans
  • Input into an ETF strategy for new index launches, connecting it with demand from the Institutional segment and supporting current client ETFs growth through these channels
  • Work closely with product, research and marketing to deliver campaigns to raise awareness of FTSE Russell index investment solutions to expand our brand recognition and promote further adoption within the Institutional and Wealth segments
  • Bring awareness of client requirements back to the business to shape go-to-market plans and collaborate with key internal stakeholders on new product development to drive growth in adoption of FTSE Russell indices
  • Work closely with product, research and marketing to ensure market intelligence, competitor analysis and market trends are gathered and monitored

Candidate profile

  • Extensive experience in Financial services/markets, particularly in ETFs and Funds within Institutional segment
  • Demonstrable relationship management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external clients and partners across all levels
  • Experience of Fund/ETF distribution and marketing to Asset Owners (pension schemes, insurance companies etc) and Investment Consultants
  • Strong knowledge of Indexing and indexed financial products
  • Proven ability to collaborate with clients and influence at a senior level
  • Strategic approach alongside the ability to lead and drive on execution
  • Client centric with strong commercial foresight and ability to manage consultative engagements to solve client problems and drive benchmark adoption
  • Excellent verbal, written and communications skills
  • Self-motivated, curious, tenacious individual
