ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Principal Developer with a strong Java background and proven exposure to C++ to architect, design, and build our flagship FX Maching Venue. This role demands deep expertise in developing trading systems and knowledge of FX products. A consistent track record of leading development teams in a multifaceted, regulated financial environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Software Architecture & Development:

  • Lead the design and development of a high-performance FX Exchange application using Java as the primary language, with some background in C++.

  • Drive the technical vision and ensure robust, scalable, and secure implementation of FX trading solutions across FX Spot and FX Swaps products.

  • Architect solutions that meet key operational, risk, and regulatory requirements.

  • Optimize Java applications and tune operating systems to achieve peak performance in high-frequency trading environments.

Process Optimization & Quality Assurance:

  • Implement efficient software development processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable services.

  • Establish and implement standard practices for code quality, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor Agile development teams, guiding them through technical challenges and encouraging a collaborative, high-performance environment.

  • Work closely with multi-functional teams, including Architecture, Product, and Sales, to align technical solutions with business objectives and customer needs.

  • Serve as the technical lead and domain expert in FX trading systems, providing strategic insights and direction across the organization.

Innovation & Impact:

  • Orchestrate the development of an FX Exchange application that is both innovative and best-in-class, directly contributing to growth opportunities.

  • Ensure that all solutions are aligned with the overall technical strategy and deliver measurable impact through improved system performance and user satisfaction.

Critical Deliverables

  • Delivery of a robust, scalable FX Matching with comprehensive modules covering FX Spot, and Swaps.

  • Continuous improvements in software quality, performance metrics, and team productivity.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Team velocity and sprint burndown rates

  • Cycle time and cumulative flow efficiency

  • Code quality and testing metrics

  • Operational and defect metrics

  • Overall performance of the FX Matching application

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Significant hands-on experience in low latency Java/C++ development.

  • Understanding of programming low-latency state machines, FIX protocol, binary protocols for market data.

  • In-depth knowledge of multi-threading and concurrency in high-frequency trading environments.

  • Extensive experience in building FX trading applications, including FX Spot, and FX Swaps.

  • Proficient in Agile development methodologies and with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., Git, GitLab, Bamboo, BitBucket, Sonarqube).

  • Hands-on experience with Application Security Tools (e.g., Veracode, Coverity, Blackduck) and a pragmatic approach to automation.

  • Proven working knowledge of Linux environments.

Business and Sector Expertise

  • Direct experience in the FX industry and regulated financial environments.

  • Broader exposure to financial markets is advantageous.

  • Validated leadership skills and technical thought leadership.

  • Experience in stakeholder management and coordinating vendor or team resources is a plus.
