JOB TITLE: Strategic Affordability Propositions Senior Manager

LOCATION(S): Chester or London

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days per week) in one of our office sites mentioned above

About this opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of the Consumer Lending teams with a goal to transform how we engage and serve customers using propositions including Your Credit Score (YCS) and new Data Products

In Customer Affordability & Data we lead on three areas:

  • Helping customers understand how much they can sustainably borrow regardless of the product they choose or the channel they reach us

  • Redefining how we assess affordability and eligibility across products and journeys

  • Developing data capabilities across products to understand and serve our customers better

What does the role entail?

We are looking for someone that is highly motivated to make a difference to customers, drive strategic change, collaborate with internal and external partners, as well as lead a high performing team.

Your work will transform our journeys, help consumers understand what they can sustainably borrow, and create seamless customer experiences by using new technology and data.

This leadership role works horizontally across The Group with teams such as Credit risk, Consumer Relationships & Consumer Lending.

A little more about our products;

Launched in Sep 2021, YCS now has over 11m registered users who trust us to be a meaningful part of their financial journey. Our 2025 vision is ambitious; educating and empowering customers, & leading the way on personalisation and eligibility.

6m customers have given us their Income & Expenditure information which we used to create even more data-led personalised interactions and identify new relationships

What you’ll need

  • You’ll have previous experience in product or journey design and how to use data and technology to help customers

  • You’ll know how to engage and influence across the organisation to make an impact for customers and the business.

  • You’ll ideally have experience of delivering against stretching plans and understand how to extract value from our data and customer propositions, while being adept at prioritisation.

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.

And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We’re disability confident. So, if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
