OB TITLE: Director, Asian Intermediaries
LOCATION(S): London
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office.

About this opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Relationship Director to join our Institutional Coverage team based in London as a Director leading our Asian Intermediaries portfolio, reporting into the Head of Global Banks, Specialist Finance and Intermediaries.

This is a newly created growth role and you'll play a leading part in developing and driving forward the strategy of the Asian Intermediaries portfolio and working with the intermediaries team in the UK and US.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building, leading and growing a portfolio of Asian Intermediary clients.
  • Strategically engaging senior (C-suite) stakeholders within the sector to drive revenues and product penetration.
  • Originating new business opportunities and ensuring the team is maximising existing client value to deepen client relationships across the portfolio.
  • Developing LBG’s profile in the market to attract new business and enhance relationships with existing clients.
  • Developing and reviewing business objectives and strategy for the sector to facilitate growth aligned to the Institutional Coverage and wider Corporate and Institutional Banking strategies.
  • Implementing and maintaining the risk-management framework (encompassing principles, policies, methodologies, systems, internal controls, processes, procedures and people) within the sector, in line with the approved appetite for risk and regulatory guidelines.

  • Deep knowledge of the Asian Intermediaries client base
  • Credible network of C-suite client relationships including a track record of leading C-suite discussions with established financial services companies
  • Experience in building and growing new client portfolios
  • Strong product knowledge across our product set including Debt, Risk, and Cash propositions

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks

This role has been identified as a Client-dealing function under SYSC 27.8.18R as defined in the FCA Handbook

The Person  (“P”) performs the client-dealing FCA certification function for a firm if:(1)  P is carrying out any of the activities in the table in SYSC 27.8.19R; and(2)  those activities will involve P dealing with:(a) a person with or for whom those activities are carried out; or(b) the property of any such person;in a manner substantially connected with the carrying on of regulated activities by the firm.

If you manage certified colleagues this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
