The Investment Platforms, SIPP Operators, Peer to Peer (P2P) and Proactive Department (IPSO) in Consumer Investments (CI) covers a wide span of portfolio supervision, fixed and flexible firm supervision, proactive visits. project and multi-firm work. You would play a vital role in helping to deliver our vision across 6,000 firms that operate in the sector. CI’s vision is that consumers can:
Invest with confidence and understand the risks they are taking
Access & identify investments that suit their circumstances and attitude to risk
Be protected from scams and fraud
Get the right advice or support to invest, should they want it
We are hiring a Manager to be responsible for our Peer to Peer and Crowdfunding portfolios.
What will you be doing?
You will work closely with colleagues in IPSO and CI to promote growth and innovation in the P2P and Crowdfunding sector alongside reducing and preventing harm to consumers, financial crime and by ensuring consumer interests are central to firms in this sector.
Managing and developing a team to ensure that excellent standards of performance are delivered on a busy caseload of reactive and proactive supervision cases with a focus on our P2P and Crowdfunding portfolio priorities and CI Strategy
Using your problem-solving skills to deliver innovative, strategic, assertive, data-led interventions using the FCA’s full range of soft and formal powers to ensure good consumer outcomes
Creating an environment where the team demonstrates assertiveness and curiosity and works with firms to ensure sustainable growth
Briefing FCA senior management and help driving external engagement and communications
Being able to work flexibly and engage colleagues across divisions to achieve good customer outcomes in firm interventions and supervision
Building and maintaining good collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Minimum
Experience of project managing
Experience of line managing or coaching / mentoring colleagues overseeing the work of others
Experience of either firm supervision, or the investment sector
Essential
Proactive, driven, organised, forward looking with excellent coordination skills and able to adapt/change course where needed for departmental priorities
Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with an ability to build strong relationships
Ability to consider complex information and develop an appropriate supervisory strategy to tackle the harm, particularly under pressure
Ability to make good judgements, to prioritise effectively and to adapt approach, communications, and working styles quickly and successfully
Willingness to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities
Managing teams effectively, developing talent and creating an inclusive environment that enables them to perform at their best
