Role summary

This Group Risk role covers all aspects of Non-Financial, Financial and Strategic risk from a 2nd Line of Defence perspective, giving exposure to all areas of the Group. The FTSE, Operations, Risk Intelligence, Data & Analytics and Sales (FORDS) risk team provides strategic risk guidance and oversight to the D&A, FTSE, Risk Intelligence, Operations and SAM organisations, provides and supports the co-ordination and analysis of the risk profile, top risk reporting and control enhancement oversight. Based in London, the role reports to the Head of Risk for Risk Intelligence, SAM and FTSE Russell in London.

What you'll be doing:

· Driving the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Framework across the Risk Intelligence function

· Providing risk input on transformation initiatives supporting Risk Intelligence changes and risk implementation.

· Providing risk oversight, input and senior stakeholder engagement to drive risk insights and proactive problem solving/shaping.

· Lead and co-ordinate 2LOD oversight of the control enhancement plan being rolled out within the 1LOD to ensure consistency and standardisation, and meeting of business maturity control objectives.

· Providing senior risk representation at various risk committees and reporting on control agenda.

· Identifying and reporting risks to relevant committees, key business partners and senior leaders, providing expert advice and guidance in all matters relating to risk management for relevant areas.

· Maintaining strong partnerships across all three lines of defence so that the risk framework has full endorsement from leadership and appropriately addresses their risk management needs.

· Providing independent Second Line assessment of emerging and change risks associated with new strategy, new products and major projects.

· Supporting the First Line team in delivering and maintaining the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA), whilst providing effective and robust review and challenge, ensuring effective risk remediation actions are identified to address control vulnerabilities.

· Ensuring all risks identified as being outside appetite have remediation plans which are monitored through the relevant governance forums.

· Attending incident review meetings and providing trend analysis of incidents from a Second Line risk perspective.

· Conducting topical investigations to deliver fresh risk insights.

· Supporting First Line to capture controls to ensure a complete and accurate control inventory.

· Contributing to the collation and preparation of materials for risk reporting committees.

· Analysing key risk indicators and management information for new insights.

· Collaborating as part of the D&A, RI and FTSE Russell Divisional Risk coverage team and across the broader Group Risk team, and engaging relevant partners in other Divisions, e.g. Technology, Operations and Corporate functions.

You'll bring:

· Deep understanding and experience of rolling out control frameworks in Front Office trading functions and products within Banking / Financial Services.

· Proven experience in Enterprise Risk Management / Operational Risk Management / Non-Financial Risk Management. Expertise with other risk types considered an advantage.

· Credibility and expertise to influence at the senior management level.

· Proven experience managing a regulated business / entity.

· Proven experience working in senior business and/or risk management roles, ideally at major global organisations.

· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at the senior management level.

· Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
