Are you looking to take the next step in your career, working within the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Finance deal team? Citi is currently looking to hire a Portfolio Manager to cover both the EMEA and APAC spread products Commercial Real Estate (CRE) book and would be expected to be the "go-to" person for any portfolio and asset management asks and sits with the CRE Front Office deal team.
The role may provide a wide range of experiences related to commercial real estate as you assist with all portfolio and asset management processes, such as the Quarterly Portfolio Review (QPR), global portfolio management exercises, various regulatory (including regional and country specific)/Office of the Comptroller (OCC) asks, asset management and workouts as well as various ad-hoc exercises.
One of the major book of work you will focus on is acting as lead for the upcoming digital transformation initiatives from the Non-US front - where the desk intends to roll out and implement a new portfolio/asset management system to provide better quality, updated performance and deal information on the book.
What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:
P&L/Balance Sheet forecasting and returns (RoTCE etc) tracking for the current and future book
Work with institutional Credit Management (ICM) on various desk level regulatory deliverables (Y14, CCAR) and other internal stakeholders for on-desk required Risk and Control (R&C) procedures: such as deal-level legal matters raising, daily flash and affirmations, internal audits, regulatory requests, CAPS/remediation and various to-business requests
Effectively asset-manage and conduct thorough analysis (financial modelling, credit analysis) when required on the current trades on the book
Speaking to external stakeholders (such as deal sponsors, servicers, valuers, lawyers, investors, other participant banks) as well as internal (Risk, ICM Underwriting, Transaction Management, Office of the Chief Appraisal (OCA), Special Assets (SA) to ensure that Citi needs are well represented
Work closely with transactors and syndication to provide ad-hoc support for origination, closing and distribution - providing ad-hoc strats, support, liaising with internal parties (e.g. ICM Underwriting/Transaction Management, Business Management, Finance, Risk, SA , Legal)
Other routine portfolio/asset management duties such as acting as KYCO on current deals on the book, ICM Underwriting/Transaction Management liaising, covenant compliance, distribution/payoff tracking, pipeline management.
What we will need from you:
Experience in structured credit / real estate finance / investment banking / private equity / private credit is very much preferred, as the role requires the individual to be familiar with the product. Exceptional candidates with other relatable experience (e.g Corporate M&A, FP&A, Treasury) are welcomed to apply as well.
Strong computing, numeracy and analytical skills required; this will include financial modelling skills
A good understanding of Corporate Finance would be required for this role.
Strong interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills – as you would be expected to lead and drive discussions from the business’s point of view, both externally and internally
Self-motivated and a strong work ethic with an ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines
Can-do attitude with willingness to “roll up sleeves” to fix and solve problems
University degree or similar. Masters/MBA is advantageous.
