This is an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join the LSE Market Data team on a 12-month fixed term basis as parental leave cover. During this 12-month period the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining relationships with our existing customer base, whilst driving incremental value from accounts, including leading campaigns to ensure correct licensing of customers in line with London Stock Exchange market data policies.

The candidate will be expected to have strong know-how of the market data industry and exchange data licensing practices, established existing relationships within the finance industry and will need to work closely with the wider team to find opportunities to both up and cross-sell key products across the market to existing and potential clients.  The candidate will be self-sufficient and have a consistent track record with the ability to drive turnover within an existing client base.

The role will be based in London reporting to the Head of Market Data – London Stock Exchange.

Core Responsibilities

  • Account Management with a focus on client retention and cross-selling to existing customers
  • Support the sales team by running sales campaigns and tracking lead generation, initiating information gathering to support inbound data feed requests, and handling offboarding requests
  • Manage orders placed through the LSE Data Shop, working with technical teams to enable customer access to data resources
  • Oversight of customer compliance including sanctions and KYC checks
  • Co-ordinating external communications to customers and handling inbound customer queries including running the team email inbox
  • Management reporting, including to support regulatory compliance
  • Marketing point of contact within the team and liaison with marketing partners within the business, keeping up to date events calendar, organising social posts, updates to our web pages, preparing factsheets and edits to existing factsheets etc. (will need access to Workfront), and facilitating external customer events.

Key behaviours and skills required to be successful in the role:

  • Commercial acumen - Demonstrable sales and account management experience in selling financial information services with a consistent track record.
  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience in, the financial market data industry.
  • Self-motivated and resilient.
  • Must show the ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical territory and account management plans.
  • Ability to work to demanding targets.
  • Ability to close the sale and secure commercial contract agreements in a timely manner.
  • Confident at operating independently and collaborating as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Able to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • FISD Financial Information Associate certification (desirable).
  • Strong MS PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Uphold high standard of client confidentiality and maintain required information barriers.
  • Prioritises activities according to business and operational need.
  • Utilises all available resources and toolsets to investigate and resolve problems.
  • Open and transparent in engaging customers.
