The Global Head of Investor Services Technology is part of the Services Technology Senior Management Team and is responsible for the day-to-day activities and strategic Technology development of Citi’s Investor Services functions, which include Custody, Fund Services and Execution Services businesses.
The Investor Services Technology Head will be responsible for a cash budget of approximately $360 million and a global headcount of ~2,100 (inclusive of direct and contract staff), deployed across multiple global locations.
As Citi continues to grow and evolve their global businesses, there is a strong mandate to ensure provision of world class IT delivery and operations, supported with innovation and partnership with the business.
Job background/context:
The Investor Services business aims to provide institutional asset managers with an end-to-end service proposition for all their banking needs: the Custody, Fund Services and Execution Services businesses are key enablers and differentiators for Citi.
Custody: provides securities settlement and clearing, safekeeping, and asset servicing to institutional clients through a proprietary sub-custody network of 60+ markets and third-party custodians or International Central Securities Depositories (ICSDs) in an additional 40+ markets.
Fund Services: offers comprehensive solutions and cross-product expertise, including fund accounting and administration, middle office, transfer agency, fiduciary services and ETF services.
Execution Services: supports our global clients with a suite of value-added services, including agency securities lending, foreign exchange solutions, and collateral management

Key responsibilities:
The Investor Services Technology Head will be responsible for the following aspects:
Lead and manage a large, diverse global technology organization with an annual spend of approximately $360MM
Lead the strategic roadmap for Investor Services Technology in line with business objective
Structure the team to ensure greatest impact, efficient use of resource and alignment to business structures as possible. Set a clear vision for the team around roles and responsibilities
Deliver scale and efficiencies through innovation, process improvement, simplification of the technology stack and strategic outsourcing and vendor partnerships
To build relationships and manage/partner with multiple senior-level client contacts, act as trusted advisor to both internal and external clients
Manage the regulatory agenda in line with broader business objectives and working with other key IT and business stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery and prioritization of such initiatives
Be responsible for and lead risk & control related activities
Development value:

Knowledge/ experience:
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded, business technology executive who can partner effectively with other senior leaders to drive large-scale, global initiatives across business units and geography.
Successful individuals will have operated as a senior technology executive with a sustained track record of high performance and demonstrated transformational success. They will have demonstrated experience in driving productivity and efficiency initiatives, both standalone and/or with partners, with the ability to test decisions from a strategic perspective.
The role will ideally have a combination of the following:
Substantial experience in a senior technology leadership role within the functions listed above
They will be able to demonstrate deep technical expertise and business knowledge and be known within the industry for their experience and track record
The candidate should be able to build exceptional peer relationships with key stakeholders in the business and form strong and trusted partnerships
They will be able to balance the need to provide world class technology solutions with the ability to tightly manage costs and ensure clear value and return on any investments
The candidate will have deep knowledge of industry rules and regulations and an understanding of what best practice means in running large-scale technology environments
A senior change leader, who recruits, develops, retains, manages, and inspires exceptional diverse talents
Strong client focus, able to operate as a partner to senior business stakeholders
Requiring 10+ years in a fast-paced financial services firm understanding the fiduciary responsibilities
Ability to make tough and difficult decisions and to drive implications with integrity and consistency
Ability to operate in Global Matrix Environment
They will also develop external relationships to maintain a point of view on competitors and their operations
They will be a strong communicator of strategy, goals and status
They will be an innovator and able to influence the required change to execute

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
