The Olympus Markets Data Strategy team is building a next generation Data Fabric to solve the evolving Business, Analytical and Regulatory needs of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG). The Fabric will bring together disparate data sources for the Global Markets organization and enable industry-leading analytics, client reporting, regulatory, surveillance, supervisory reporting(s) and data science solutions. It will also provide enhanced data quality controls , completeness and accuracy, reconciliations, entitlements, performance, management of data retention and archival per regulatory guidelines.
Olympus Risk program involves centralising the Risk data across Markets and have one golden source of data for all Risk reporting and analytics. Olympus will need to build pipelines for ingesting Risk data across various systems and provide access to Risk data to downstream consumers including Finance, Backoffice and Accounting systems.
The role of the Spark Developer is to understand the existing data flows and requirements and to come up with technical design / architecture. Robust technical frameworks need to be built which will be the foundation of the way the Risk data will be modelled, centralised and exposed to the downstream consumers. Role also involves ensuring the optimal Data quality and integrity of the data stored as part of the Risk schemas, Data Analysis and Reporting, collaborating with Stakeholders and ensuring data stored is compliant with regulatory and Internal Audit process.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Low latency caching to service Front office risk systems
Design and build frameworks for ingesting / modelling the complex Risk data
Provide SME support for development of automated QA scripts
Setup monitoring and management for services
Ensure Data Quality & Integrity of the Risk and Financial stored in the Big data environment
Analyze large volumes of data and extract actionable insight using tools like excel & Tableau
Utilize scripting language to improve automation and process improvement
Collaborate constructively with key stakeholders for successful deliveries
Ensure solutions used meet Data Governance and Compliance metrics
Qualifications: Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience
Development experience with expertise in the following:
Java Server side development working in Low latency applications
Financial background preferable
Spark expertise (micro batching, EOD/real time)
Python
In-memory databases
SQL Skills & RDBMS concepts
Linux
Hadoop Ecosystem (HDFS, Impala, HIVE, HBASE, etc.)
Python , R or equivalent scripting language(s)
Excellent Excel Analysis skills
Good understanding of Investment Banking data
A history of delivering against agreed objectives
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Ability to pick up new concepts and apply the knowledge.
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Enthusiastic and proactive approach with willingness to learn
Excellent analytical and process-based skills, i.e. process flow diagrams, business modelling, and functional design
The candidate is expected to be dynamic, flexible with a high energy level as this is a demanding and rapidly changing environment
