Salary: A competitive salary from £39,680 - £59,520 depending on the experience you can bring

Distribution and Marketing delivers Aegon’s commercial outcomes through promotion of the brand, products and services, we drive the innovation, development and delivery of our propositions to our adviser, employer and customer audiences and is responsible for:

  • The end customer proposition and ensuring that AUK delivers a compelling customer promise and proposition in line with its strategy.
  • The Aegon brand in the UK and the design, development, planning, delivery and evaluation of all strategic and tactical communications activity.
  • Having a clear retention strategy which meets the needs of the customers Aegon serves.
  • Ensuring that Aegon delivers good customer outcomes and treats customers fairly.

Marketing Communications sits at the heart of all ‘comms’ activity, acting as the central hub for shaping and delivering external communications to advisers, customers and the wider market. We are now looking for a Senior Communications Consultant to join our team in Edinburgh, supporting the Communications Manager in developing and delivering impactful, channel specific marketing communications.

As part of the Communication and Engagement team this role will form part of an exciting journey to  transform Workplace communications.  This role includes the opportunity to work with engagement experts Pension Geeks to deliver energetic and exciting face-to-face or digital workplace member events. You will also be working with the award winning Mylo team to deliver personalised and targeted member communications.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, developing and delivering marketing communications, campaigns and projects in line with agreed timelines and a rolling monthly activity plan.
  • Creating clear, compliant and engaging content across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with brand standards and customer promise.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to coordinate delivery and achieve planned outcomes.
  • Representing the organisation at external industry events, conferences and onsite client sessions, coordinating content and engaging audiences to showcase offerings.
  • Ensuring all communications meet regulatory, compliance and conduct risk requirements, presenting information that is clear, fair and not misleading.
  • Managing budgets effectively, including tracking spend, processing invoices and driving efficiency across activities.
  • Using customer insight and segmentation to target communications effectively and enhance engagement.
  • Measuring, analysing and reporting on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for future activity.
  • Maintaining and regularly reviewing communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and cost efficiency across all channels.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience working in financial services, with workplace/pensions experience being a strong advantage.
  • Strong copywriting skills across multiple channels, particularly digital and direct communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail, tone of voice and brand alignment.
  • Event co ordination experience both face to face and virtual.
  • Solid understanding of marketing communications principles, including the promotional mix and campaign planning.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial promotions.
  • Experience of developing and delivering marketing communications campaigns, plans and proposals.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • A strong understanding of customer and adviser segmentation and how to apply insight to targeted communications.
