People are living longer and we’re excited by the opportunities this brings to help people live their best lives. We’re here for everyone who wants to make the most of their time on the planet and leave it a little better than they found it – however grand or humble their ambitions.
We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.
We have an exciting opportunity for a data savvy individual to join our Analytics Team as a Data Analyst to work closely with key individuals from across the business to support a range of the latest strategic initiatives / focus areas. You’ll be joining a small, well-established and highly respected team with a collaborative and supportive culture and will gain direct exposure to data and processes that underpin many of the key decisions made within the business and you’ll play a key part by ensuring that high-quality data and associated analysis is always available when it’s needed.
You’ll use your analytical skills to turn data into meaningful insights – designing, developing and presenting analysis that supports both strategic decision-making and day-to-day business operations. Alongside this, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of smaller analytical projects, seeing them through from idea to delivery.
You’ll also develop and maintain core data sourcing and processing routines, helping to deliver accurate, robust and timely data for analysis, while proactively monitoring and improving data quality.
This is a hands-on, technical role with a strong programming element, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thinks logically and has a genuine passion for working with data. Just as important are your communication skills – you’ll be confident explaining insights clearly, building relationships, and understanding how your work adds value to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Deliver impactful insight and analysis that supports both strategic and operational decision-making, helping to measure performance and identify key risks and opportunities across channels
Oversee and optimise automated data processes, ensuring regular data production is accurate, reliable and delivered on time, while carrying out bespoke data manipulation and preparation
Produce and enhance analytical outputs and dashboards, using appropriate tools to deliver clear, engaging and actionable data visualisations
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support the development and maintenance of consistent and reliable data flows
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with all types of data
Strong interest in numbers and data, with good Excel skills
Experience using data analysis tools and coding languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python with hands-on data sourcing, extraction and manipulation skills
Ability to clearly explain insights to non-technical stakeholders
Experience using tools to create reports/dashboards e.g. Tableau
A self-motivated and organised approach, with the ability to manage deadlines independently
The ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively as part of a team
Commercial awareness (understanding how data links to business performance)
Experience working with business stakeholders and delivering smaller data-led projects
What’s in it for you?
We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)
We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our employees live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.
