This is an exciting opportunity to join Group Internal Audit (GIA), a team that supports the Board to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of Royal London Group, and create value through impactful assurance. As an Internal Audit Manager, you will contribute to delivering impactful audit work, strengthening risk and control culture, and helping shape GIA’s strategy. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking audit function that provides core assurance and insightful advice, offering exposure across the Group, senior stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to influence decisions that genuinely matter.
About the role
• Responsible for contributing to developing the annual audit plan and the delivery of audits to time, cost, and quality, along with other experienced auditors within the GIA team.
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for Actuarial or IT.
• Influence senior stakeholders to embed robust governance, risk management and controls into strategic decision making.
• Builds credible and powerful relationships with senior stakeholders, demonstrating robust judgement, insight and thought leadership.
• Ability to generate recommendations which improve business process and demonstrate commercial awareness. Provide impactful and insightful assurance and advice.
• Identify and assess key controls and the management of them.
• Coordinate audit delivery with other controls testing teams and Group Risk & Compliance
About you
• Recognised relevant specialist professional qualification in Actuarial or IT e.g. FFA or FIA, CISA, CRISC, CISM.
• IA and / or risk management qualification / experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of life and pensions insurance products and/or asset management throughout their lifecycle (e.g. from design to launch, sales, experience and understanding of the distribution of insurance products to customers) is desirable.
• Sound knowledge of the recent developments and challenges that the Insurance and asset management industry faces and can assess how best to respond to the resultant risks.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience of data analytics, and use of AI, in a risk or assurance setting is desirable
