We’re looking for a talented Bid Manager to join our Bid team within Royal London’s UK Distribution business. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in acquiring and retaining profitable strategic partner and client relationships in the UK financial advice market. You’ll work closely with Business Development teams and senior stakeholders, helping to deliver sustainable growth through our Protection and Workplace Pension propositions. About the role

  • Lead the end-to-end bid and tender process (RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, pitches), from qualification through to submission
  • Create high-quality, tailored content aligned to client needs, delivering compelling written proposals and presentations
  • Facilitate bid workshops (storyboarding, win themes, competitive analysis) to shape winning strategies
  • Work closely with Business Development and senior stakeholders to review opportunities and drive bid direction
  • Manage the bid pipeline, tracking progress, reporting on performance, and meeting key deadlines
  • Own the development of market-leading proposals, including research, content creation, and pitch materials
  • Coach and support SMEs and BDMs to improve proposal quality and consistency across submissions
  • Ensure risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance throughout the bid lifecycle

 

About you

  • Strong experience managing end-to-end bid and tender activity in a corporate environment (APMP aligned preferred)
  • Proven ability to develop high-quality written proposals and deliver impactful presentations
  • Strong understanding of bid best practice and how it supports business growth and retention
  • Knowledge of Workplace Pensions, Employee Benefits, Protection, and the wider financial services market
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging and influencing at senior level
  • Highly organised and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable working with data and complex information
  • Leadership capability to coach, challenge and support others to deliver high-quality outcomes
