This is an exciting opportunity to drive the heart of crypto policy forward leading one of the teams working to bring to life the crypto regime, providing policy input into the gateway, as well as taking forward new policies needed to develop and deliver the crypto regime. Managing one of the crypto teams within the department, this is an opportunity to be tackle fascinating and difficult questions in the crypto ecosystem, working with many stakeholders both internally and externally.
The role sits within the Payments & Digital Assets Policy Department and is hugely important to the development and delivery of crypto policy within the UK.
Role Responsibilities
You will be at the heart of developing and delivering crypto policy and shaping the industry going forward making lasting and impactful improvements to the UK crypto ecosystem in the UK.
The role covers a wide variety of topics, but includes:
Being part of the departmental management team for Payments and Digital Assets Policy
Manage material workstreams to shape and develop various aspects of crypto policy, working closely with the crypto technology policy team as well as the stablecoins team and the payments policy teams, as well as other policy, supervision and authorisations teams across the FCA and the CARE programme
Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Maintain and manage a high performing team through effective recruitment, performance management and development of staff from diverse backgrounds and of various levels
Skills Required
Minimum:
SC Clearance is required for this role (SC Guidance) - you will hold or will be required to obtain Security Check (SC) level vetting
Prior experience of people leadership skills, including ability to build and maintain high performing teams
Experience of developing policy and / or knowledge of the UK crypto regime
Essential:
Extensive analytical experience, with an ability to assimilate information quickly and clearly draw out key implications from a broad and varied range of information
An ability to consider complex information and to support the development and delivery of policy
Solid organisational skills with a capability to manage a variety of priorities and issues
High standard of problem solving and strategic thinking with sound judgement
A self-managed thinker with an inquisitive mind-set and a pragmatic approach to making judgements
Effective interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a clear ability to work with and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally including the confidence and credibility when representing the FCA externally
Able to prepare and deliver complex, strategic written technical communications and deliver sensitive messages and willingness to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible and pragmatic approach to your work
