Head of Delivery - Programme Manager

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Head of Delivery to join Royal London. Royal London has a strong position across its core markets, but continued success will require a substantial shift in how our products and services are delivered to, managed for, and personalised for customers.  

Workplace Pensions is a strategic priority for the Group and effective delivery of the programme requires us to improve the effectiveness of our technology change delivery and ideally faster than our current and emerging competitors.  

The Head of Delivery within the CIO Long Term Savings function will collaborate cross-functionally to define a clear target state and execution plan to deliver on our strategic ambition for Workplace Pension business.   

 

 

More About the role:

 

  • Delivery of significant complex strategic business and technical change through multiple projects and workstreams
  • Drive the continual modernisation of the area through new tooling and methods
  • Management of significant change being delivered through and by partners  
  • Initiate and set goals for programme according to the strategic objectives of the organisation 
  • Plan the programme from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes across the different workstreams/projects with clear view of critical path for delivery    
  • Identify and manage cross project and workstream dependencies     
  • Develop or approve budgets and operations 
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people 
  • Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed 
  • Initiate and set goals for programmes according to the strategic objectives of the organisation 
  • Implement appropriate level of Governance in-line with Group methods to ensure correct level of control 
  • Managing the integration of programme outcomes / benefits into business as usual addressing the readiness of users, compatibility of work systems and the realisation of benefits 

 

 

 

What you will bring to the role:

 

  • Proven experience as Head of Delivery across large scale strategic and technical programmes  
  • Expert understanding of project/programme management techniques and methods both agile and waterfall  
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics 
  • Deep understanding of Workplace pensions 
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting 
  • A business acumen with a strategic ability 
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills 
  • An analytical mind-set with developed problem-solving abilities 
  • Proven experience of working with third parties to deliver   
  • Highly effective in dealing with major suppliers and Exec Level stakeholders
