Enterprise Technology (formerly Global Technology Services) is a global organization within Transamerica. We provide dedicated support to Transamerica, and we bring all of Aegon's business units together through the use of technology. We provide the backbone - the infrastructure - for how everything works. We’re creating the company’s AI environment, building a flexible ‘cloud experience’ for internal hosting services, designing frameworks for data governance and management, and ensuring the security and stability the company’s technology. In short, we enable the business units to move more quickly and deliver to our clients in the best possible way. Whether customers are interested in insurance products or annuities or financial services, we're here to ensure they don't have to worry whether their information is safe.

The people we employ are incredibly diverse, both in terms of backgrounds and skill sets.  We have over 1,000 employees located in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, and Hungary, Spain, and Hong Kong.  Our global teams are comprised of experts in the areas such as application development, information security, infrastructure services, data & analytics, risk & controls, procurement, program management, and architecture.

The most important quality in the people who join us is curiosity. A lot of what we do is problem solving, requiring colleagues to take what they know and apply it to new situations. We have many mature processes, but we’re always looking for opportunities to improve, so we want people who are naturally inquisitive and confident enough to challenge the way we do things. Technology is constantly, rapidly changing – we need you to help us continue to change with it.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for applying financial analysis, knowledge and judgment to activities that are diverse. These activities include analysis for actual, budget and forecasting requirements to functions of the Enterprise Technology organisation. Key support will also be required to help the Aegon business unit’s stakeholder management, aiding the business units in their understanding of their service consumption compared to budget and alignment with their strategic roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Extracting financial data from various accounting and information systems to perform appropriate analysis.
  • Ownership of appropriate monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
  • Contributing towards the annual budget process.
  • Regular forecasting and business partnering.
  • Analysing financial data and defining relevant information.
  • Participating in monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Analysis and reporting of budgeting and midterm planning for key functions.
  • Recommending changes to processes to drive continuous improvement and achieve greater efficiencies.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Evidenced experience in financial analysis.
  • Experience managing financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting end-to-end within a business environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with accruals and prepayment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger (or similar software) would be beneficial.
  • A professional accountancy qualification (such as CA, ACCA, CIMA) would be beneficial but not essential.

What’s in it for you?

  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 36 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our employees live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.  To find out more about what to expect at Aegon, visit our careers site.
