£37,120 - £42,210 yearly

Job Description

Senior Delivery Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for a Microsoft Teams and M365 Specialist to join the M365 team on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

The role sits within the wider Digital Workplace domain, which delivers and supports collaboration, productivity and information management services across the Bank. The successful candidate will provide hands-on administration and third-line support for Microsoft Teams, with particular focus on Teams Phone, meeting rooms, service quality and policy management. They will also help maintain related Microsoft 365 services, including licensing, SharePoint Online, Loop, apps and Copilot, according to team priorities.

We want to make more of the technology that we have and explore opportunities to use it in new ways to make the Bank more effective. This role suits someone who enjoys resolving complex service issues, working with colleagues across technical teams and improving the reliability of everyday collaboration tools.

A day in the role

A typical day could start with a team stand-up to agree support priorities and planned changes. You might investigate a Teams calling issue using the Teams admin centre and Call Quality Dashboard, check the health of meeting-room devices and their resource accounts, or work with colleagues to resolve a licensing or sign-in problem. Later, you could review a Teams policy or app request, raise a controlled change, update a support article and coordinate with Microsoft or another technical team on an incident. You would balance responsive support with improvements that make the service easier to operate.

  • Administer and support Microsoft Teams, including teams and channels, meetings, apps, user settings and associated policies.
  • Support Teams Voice and telephony services, including user enablement, calling configuration, licensing and troubleshooting, working with relevant service owners and suppliers where required.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams Rooms and meeting-room services, including device health, resource accounts, licensing, sign-in and calendar integration.
  • Use the Teams admin centre, Call Quality Dashboard, Service Health dashboard and other available diagnostics to investigate call and meeting quality, identify trends and coordinate remediation.
  • Investigate and resolve third-line incidents, problems and service requests across Teams and other Microsoft 365 services; escalate effectively to Microsoft and other teams.
  • Manage and assess Teams meeting, messaging, calling and app policies, implementing approved changes through the Bank's change-control processes.
  • Support related Microsoft 365 administration where needed, including user licensing, Microsoft 365 apps, Loop workspaces, Copilot Agents lifecycle, and Copilot access.
  • Document configurations, operational procedures and fixes; share knowledge with first- and second-line colleagues and identify service improvements.

Minimum Criteria

  • We're looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:
  • Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Teams in an enterprise environment, including Teams voice/telephony and Teams Voice.
  • Experience administering and supporting Teams meeting rooms, including devices, resource accounts and licensing.
  • Experience managing Teams and M365 policies, including meeting, messaging, calling or app policies, and applying changes in a controlled environment.
  • Strong diagnostic, documentation and communication skills, with experience supporting business-critical services and working across technical teams.

Essential Criteria

  • We are interested in hearing from candidates who have the following capabilities:
  • A methodical approach to third-line incident and problem investigation, including gathering evidence, communicating impact and escalating appropriately.
  • Ability to work with service desk colleagues, identity, networking, security, workplace technology and suppliers to resolve cross-service issues.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 identity, licensing and access dependencies relevant to Teams users and meeting rooms.
  • Ability to plan, test, document and implement service changes while considering security, governance, user impact and supportability.
  • A proactive approach to service improvement, knowledge sharing and maintaining clear support documentation.

Desirable Criteria

  • It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have experience in some of the following:
  • Microsoft Loop administration, workspace access or retention-related changes.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot licensing and access, Teams apps or agent administration.
  • Microsoft Copilot Agents governance and administration, including publication and lifecycle management.
  • PowerShell for Microsoft Teams or Microsoft 365 administration and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview or information governance.
  • Working in a regulated or highly governed environment, including IT service management and change control.
  • Relevant Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Teams certifications.
