Role profile:

Group Risk IT provides technology solutions for Group Risk, a centralised function which oversees all Clearing Services in LCH.  It is composed of 3 sub teams - development, QA & Business Analysis. Our primary objective is to inspire confidence in market participants through providing efficient and effective clearing services and risk management. The ideal candidate will be diligent, tenacious and delivery focused with a track record of building high quality solutions that are resilient and maintainable.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Group Risk IT is responsible several risk management applications, the primary one being a data warehouse and reporting solution used by Group Risk. In addition to the data warehouse there are microservices that expose the data in a user interface and perform calculations. The risk management application is used to analyse and report risk exposures, compute capital requirements (KCCP), manage Internal Credit Scores (ICS), and monitor risk against policies. 


Key Responsibilities of the role

- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of technologies and/or subjective matter expert knowledge of a technology, advising others on design, development and implementation.

- Advances tools and applications by producing expert code, reviewing others' code when required.

- Supervises a team and co-ordinates work of other team members, promoting an inclusive and open culture.

- Develops knowledge and expertise in software development and develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies.

- Builds understanding of strategy and culture, and how they impact own work.

- Oversees the design work and planning for user stories ensuring the achieve the desired objectives.

- Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions. Develops understanding of LSEG's commercial direction and how technology is a part of this.

- Executes on the delivery of given tasks.

- Builds trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates complex /technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format.

- Takes a proactive approach to invest time in learning and development of technology products for self and the team.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Essential

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership skills – able to guide and motivate a team to produce robust solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with relational databases, particularly Oracle, Snowflake
  • Experience in working using Behaviour Driven Development / Test Driven Development methodologies.
  • Proficient in developing Data Engineering pipelines in Python, DBT and Airflow


Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of capital markets and financial risk management
  • Experience with working in a distributed team
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP etc)
  • Experience working with Snowflake & DBT
  • Experience in a scripting language (Shell, Python or similar)
