.Job Description
JOB TITLE: Events Assistant Manager - B2B Marketing
SALARY: £48,987 – 54,430 pa
LOCATION(S): London 25 Gresham Street
HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office. You’ll also be required to work outside of standard hours and travel for events as needed.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Our Business-to-Business Marketing team is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Events Assistant Manager to join the Marketing & Events team.
You'll be joining an enthusiastic, energetic and established team who are recognised across the Group for their ability to deliver best in class client experiences, from inception to completion. This can be anything from proprietary conferences, content led client events, sponsorships or our participation at key trade conferences.
Event experience is important, but so too is attitude. We value individuals who bring ideas, energy and a ‘can do’ approach to overcome hurdles and drive projects through to timely completion, with an eye for detail, an innate ability to multi-task and work against tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Because events don’t always stick to a 9–5, there’ll be times you’ll be involved in evening or weekend delivery, which you'd take back in lieu.
ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
This is a fast-paced, varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to really make a real impact. No two days will look the same, but generally, in this role you’ll:
Manage a range of B2B events, taking full ownership of smaller-scale events while supporting the delivery of larger, more complex events alongside senior team members
Build effective relationships with internal and external business partners and clients, suppliers and colleagues
Bring a proactive approach to your work, using your initiative and creative thinking to solve problems, overcome challenges and come up with new ideas!
Work across multiple events and business areas, maintaining quality and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
Use your time management and project coordination skills to prioritise competing demands and keep multiple workstreams on track
Take ownership of key elements of events, working independently where needed and with direction and guidance from the Events Managers in the team, while collaborating closely with the wider team to deliver successful outcomes
Manage event budgets and suppliers, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed costs and expectations
Maintain a high level of attention to detail, understanding the importance of delivering polished, professional experiences
ABOUT YOU
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds, and that skills can be developed in different ways. As we expect a high volume of applications, please help us understand your experience by clearly highlighting the essential (and desirable) skills below in your CV and cover letter. Where possible, include examples of types of commercial events you’ve delivered (e.g. type of event, event size, audience, budget etc.).
Essential skills
Experience delivering corporate or commercial events (typically 4+ years), with exposure to events of varying scale. Experience within financial or professional services and/or high-profile events, especially in B2B sectors would be beneficial, but isn’t essential
Confident communicator, comfortable building relationships both internally and externally. Experience engaging senior partners, including C-suite audiences, would be advantageous
Highly organised with strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Creative, with experience contributing ideas to event design, content or overall guest experience in a commercial or corporate setting
A self-starter, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach, and the ability to anticipate challenges and respond quickly to keep delivery on track
Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with experience managing deliverables and budgets independently and using your initiative to drive outcomes

Returner opportunities
Returning to work after time away can be challenging. That’s why we offer Returner opportunities that are designed to assist people returning to work after a career break of 18 months or more and our roles are permanent from the day one. Whether you’ve been away from work due to parenthood, illness, or even travel, we’re looking forward to hearing from you as we continue to grow!
What can you expect?
Coming back into the world of work after a career break can be really daunting – and we therefore know how important flexibility is. We’re very aware that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, so will happily have the discussion about different working patterns with you.
These roles have been created with your career break in mind, making sure we are there to support you in your transition back to work. You will be brought in on a permanent contract and given meaningful work from day one. Plus, you’ll be paired with a buddy or mentor from your team to help guide you along the way. You’ll also benefit from being part of the wider Returners Community and have the chance to create a personal development plan that works for you.
Who are we looking for?
While banking or professional services experience is desirable, especially for some roles, we care more about the transferable skills you can bring to our business.
Testimonials
I had a good network of colleagues already working for Lloyds Banking Group, who were all very passionate about their roles - so it felt the right choice for me and gave me the courage to apply for a Business Analyst role through the Returners. It was a seamless recruitment experience and I was offered a role in the work I wanted to do.
Olufunke Oladinni, Business Analyst
I love being a Project Manager, and I can’t recommend the Lloyds Banking Group Returners enough. It’ll springboard your career, giving you the best opportunity to relaunch yourself and maximise your full potential.
