What you’ll be doing
This role involves a key responsibility in advancing how data is handled, governed, and applied across the Group. You will work alongside data management colleagues to maintain alignment with Group standards and assist in following internal data policies and external regulatory frameworks, including BCBS239, which is critical for this role.

You’ll play a role in improving data quality and governance through data analysis, producing clear reports, and seeing opportunities to improve how data is captured, managed, and applied to aid better decision making. This involves facilitating full data lineage, supporting data quality improvements, and helping establish consistent processes and controls that supports internal and external compliance.

As a member of the Risk Data Excellence team, you will serve as a reliable contact for data-related matters. You will offer mentorship, constructive feedback, and clear communication to various collaborators. Additionally, you will assist with compliance tasks and promote simplification and efficiency in processes. This ensures data supports accurate reports to the Board and regulators and delivers better results for customers and the business.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in data management, data governance or a related field

  • Solid background in managing data quality, understanding data lineage, and analysing data, with the capability to transform insights into actionable enhancements

  • Confident collaborator management skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • A solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities and work independently

And any experience of these would be great:

  • Experience working with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS239

  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra or Ataccama
